Ernie Banks, Billy Williams and Ron Santo were amongst the best top three batters on their respective team in the history of baseball.

If Ernie Banks had spent his entire career at shortstop he would have been considered along with Ruth ,Mays , Aaron as the greatest player in baseball history.

I used to hurry back from school to see the last few innings. All my buddies did the same thing, and after the game, we’d all meet up to play ball.

My dad pointed out to me that Banks was such a gentleman that he never argued with the umpires, so he always got the benefit of the doubt from them.
