I have heard this album, too. I used to own it, and I played it for a few times on the stereo system at Terrace Club, at Princeton University. I remember it made Stan Jordan run around in circles, shouting madly. He was overwhelmed by the complexity of the music... as most people are. I'm sad that he never really understood or even tried to understand the music... especially since he is such a talented Jazz musician. 16:26 ("Uma Pho:nix"... delightful pun on phonics and such).
nothing I think you're right - for example, there should be trumpets and bird whistles in Bird of Passage but not in Ceylon. Several online vendors seem to have mixed up the runtimes of the two pieces as well.
Yes, Bird of Passage has Markus Stockhausen and Tim Miller on trumpets which do not appear on Ceylon. This was the case also on the vinyl album released on Chrysalis in the 70's which I have where the mislabeling probably began,
Great!! I have this LP with a personal dedication by Stockhausen!

This piece is actually "bird of Paradise". I would love to hear the other side also, which is "Ceylon".
Unfortunately I can't find any link to add, but in my opinion "the" Ceylon is even better :)
