Awesome. In the USA, we have power lines that are hung from power poles. This is common, around the world, of course. The electrical lines are supported by heavy, metal, non-conductive cables. The electrical wires are wrapped to the supporting cables with a device that is very similar to yours. It differs in that there is no motor. The device is set up on the wire and cable, in the air. There is a rope attached to the wrapper. A worker on the ground pulls the rope, to advance the wrapper. The wrapper has gearing and wheels the make a friction fit against the cable. As the wrapper is pulled forward, the wheels turn and spin the tie wrap. It does not have, or need, electrical power. The worker provides the power.

You consider adding a slot to the parts to loom wires in place? If you had another black bearing you should be able to hold everything tight still

A nice design as always, I prefer the old way of lacing my wiring, it is a skill I have used throughout my working life, although not as fast as a wrapping machine on straight runs I can get pretty fast, and the lacing looks so so good!

    A nice project!
By the way, I think it would be also possible to make the working part of the device not in O-form but U-form (an open ring) so that you can remove the cable even if it is connected on both sides...

О. Обожаю такие штуки. Совершенно бесполезно, лишь бы что-то сделать. А подключенные провода эта штука обматывать может? А после работы этим девайсом вечером не только посолить можешь?

You are doing nice things!! ❤❤❤ I think it will be wonderful to add to this device additional wight to compensate tape mass 😊 In this case the speed can be increased significantly! 😅

I assume thats white PTFE plumbers tape you are wrapping with?

Yeah I was trying to figure out what it is too. I've used PTFE tape but it's not perfect. The thicker grey kind is better but still not as good as what I've seen in some small bundles like those coming from a camera sensor to the vtx. So if anyone knows what's best I'd love to know

I wasn't even aware of grey tape. googling, apparently its a denser anti-galling tape intended for stainless pipe - interesting. I generally use pink tape, same 0.1mm thickness as white, but triple density, intended for larger diameter fittings. 12 to 50mm fittings apparently. Usually comes on larger diameter spools, 30m long. If I make a tool will allow for the bigger tape spool.

@@galah4092 there's also a yellow one for gas or propane I think bits it's to slippery. None of them are like the black tape you see coming from a DJI or caddx FPV cam to the vista vtx. That's stuff looks super legit. I'll have to try the pink kind. Thanks

Great, now make something more useful like a toilet paper dispenser that folds and cuts

Have you heard of spiral wrap? It's cheap and literally made for this.

You still have to spin it around. My biggest concern with this would be reworking or salvaging. After a few months, most adhesives become slime when removed. Still incredible work!

I agree with avoiding tape, i was thinking about winding sewing thread around the cable bundle to keep them tight before passing through heatshrink tube @@manicmods
