I only recently discovered your videos. I will be in Italy next year and they provide a nice way to revisit places I know--and don't know well, like Garbatella! One question: you mention that there were 'espropri' from the Torlonia family. Was this a governmental mandate that they had to give up property? (That's the normal sense of 'expropriate' in English). But THANKS for all these!
À mon avis, plus d'un promoteur immobilier doivent loucher d'envie de mettre la main sur ces espaces et d'y construire des immeubles de rapport... "Garbatella fuori le mura", cela veut-il dire que le quartier est construit en dehors de la muraille d'Aurélien ?...
Exactement Pierre, la Garbatella est située à l'extérieur des murs d'Aurélien qui pour Rome est une frontière historique et réelle entre le centre-ville et les quartiers extérieurs au centre historique. 🙂

Usually it was expropriations, however compensated by other concessions of the state towards the Torlonia. Happy future holidays in Rome Marcus. 🙂👍
