I love how open Kevin was about the video. "Yeah, it makes literally no sense, and I had nothing to do with it, but it's whatever." I bet the label didn't appreciate him being honest, and that makes me love it even more.
So this is not footage from an Australian TV show, this show was a local cable access show from just outside of Boston MA called Whiplash TV, the venue it was recorded at was called Chapter 2 in Salisbury MA and it was recorded on Jan 9, 1993. I have the original copy of this somewhere, I was the host.
@@todessehnsucht I think Napalm Death was really the band that made the distinction between the two when they played both genres but highlighting the Punk roots of Grindcore to separate it from the more Metallic Thrash-roots of Death Metal
Not as uniterested as John Myung tho, nobody can beat John Myung :) The man was probably thinking "I just want to go home and practice my bass" Edit: typos
Also, did John mention that "this guy named Slash" sat in front of them and looked like a weeping willow tree? Was Slash mostly under the GnR umbrella at the time, and thus was unknown alone or are they referring to someone else?
I was browsing through youtube and I think it might be the unplugged concert they gave in 1992. Here's the intro: ruclips.net/video/EsLPUw1V0c4/видео.html It matches John's description of having to sit on a couch or so and clap so I am just perusing through these to see if I can spot DT.
This is a very interesting interview- but I don't think this is Rage. For one thing, I don't recall DT ever touring Australia in 1993. The other thing is that Rage's format is primarily music videos selected by a guest host.

Never seen this one before. Thanks for posting.

Wow, cool!
Legends in the making
The Mount Rushmore of musical genius from New Yawk. Yeah!
Didn't realise the phrase "Grindcore" was regularly uttered in 1993...interesting
It was! Death Metal and Grindcore were kinda thrown together in the same pot!

Thank you for this!
Love seeing the boys.
Thanks for posting. You kinda could tell that Kevin was starting to drift off. He looks totally uninterested

Now we need the MTV video

Then again, they gave so many performances at MTV even before 1993, so it's hard to figure out which one.
@@sanjivharikumar The light in the video is unfortunate, even if it was we could not know lol
@@numetalinkin agreed. That's why I was wondering how the interviewer could have seen them then :(
