Maikel, Really enjoying the rebuild as i have never restored a FHC before but they say everyday is a school day 🤔 I hope like you & I that the videos will help someone who is taking on a restoration. I got so much help due to RUclips that like you I wanted to give something back. Thanks for the shout and good to see Owen again. Cheers Dave

      Hello Dave, @ClassicCarCave,
many thanks for watching and your feedback. Your XK hockey sticks created a sleepless night for me. So had to check it next day with Owen who spent New Year's eve with us in Germany. Always a good time with them.
When you have never done a FHC, than that is your next car to do. It is extremely rewarding and the FHC shape in the workshop is always a piece of art. It makes you touching it. But find one that is complete with a solid bodyshell. 👌
We both have our hands on the cars and know what we are talking about. It is not always sunshine but that is part of the show and passion. Always interested in watching your videos. Keep it up. Maikel

Good job, Maikel, I wonder much it's cost, the new paint, because I will tty it myself in the garage with my project Jaguar e type.

@franklupker9293 hi Frank, cost of paint job depends very much on the preparation you have done before. The body was already in near perfect condition, so, I could apply the primer and did lots of work on my own. But in the end you have costs for material, and the final painting what I get done by a professional. I trust those who have the experience and doing it as a daily job. I would not risk. Plus I can get other things done I really know much better than final painting. At least that is my opinion. I also know other people painting their own cars and they also do look good, But they are using a cabin. Good look 👍

@@JaguarEType, don't have a cabin, but I have an other garage from a friend, that I can use for painting the bonnet first. Use some plastic for the ceiling and water on the ground. dust falling is the enemy only. Frank.

Weiter so, einfach Top.

      Hallo @peterlennartz8614,

Thank you John, it is coming along pretty well and progress is noticeable. But as you certainly know, every now and then, a little something is missing 😩 and you only realize when you are actually installing it. How often did or still does it happen to all of us 😕

      @JaguarEType  9 месяцев назад

      Hallo Marko,

    Hi Maikel,
Thank you for this new instructive video.
First a question wrt your hockey sticks: am I misled by the video or the fitting of your hockey sticks does not well follow the curves of the roof (at 3:12 and 4:03)? Adjutment will be necessary.
Very happy to see your (accelerated) installation of headliner, and thank you to your"assistant" who does the job. I had not seen a video of it before, only photos, and I knew some of the tips but it is useful to see in real.
Congrats for the nasty task of spraying that anticorrosion grease everywhere. I am Happy to have it done by a shop on my FHC! The cleaning of the car was probably not easy afterwards...
I will be very interested to see how you prepare and retrim the cantrails, I know it is not easy.
    Good continuation!

      Hi Serge @paydase,
the A post pillars on the car are perfect. You have to imagine the rubber seal and the horizontal chrome stripe is missing. It will then be aligned in a perfect angle.
If you do not fit these hockey sticks while preparing the body for the praintshop, they might touch the bulkhead as we have seen on Daves XK150.
The anti corrosion is a nasty job, but I wanted to show it and give an idea of what it takes. It is about 1/2 a day, but bringing it somewhere and picking it up is almost the same amount of time. And often you do not find one doing it PROPERLY, even you have someone getting it done for you, I prefer to rely on my own standards rather than paying someone only to find out it was not as good as I expected it to be. Someone might call it picky. Most of the trim is already done during the time the car was at the paintshop and will be just plugged it. More videos will come just needs getting everything together. The more detailed videos will be on my website for members.
