- Minecraft waterfalls are so satisfying now. Since my Minecraft splash / splashes and cascade / waterfall effects mod basing itself on the Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Part II trailer effects was enjoyed by many people, I received requests to update the mod, so I did! Enjoy this mod for 1.18 while we patiently wait for the Wild Update and the Deep Dark.

Finally I can play minecraft with waterfalls without waking up my entire country
ikr
lmao
So wake up the members of my nation 🎶
yes and no, don’t forget the pistons aha
The water falls won’t wake them up your pc fans will
I love how you managed to give more uses to lapis, it always felt like an underused ore. Great Video!
Except u know enchanting
@@the8thdeadlysin410 it’s still useless
Now for emeralds and gold
@@ImNotFine44 gold somewhat has new use with the whole nether update but yeah would be nice
@@doodle276 oh. Ive… nether played the update ;). Seriously I haven’t tried it.
It would be cool if the amount of particles generated scaled with how far the water has fallen from
Yeah, something like distance from the source minus or devided by some amount decided by how many blocks the water has touched on the way down. Or just distance from source, either is good :b.
@@CalebDaMaker do you have a link?
@@jacksimmons537 No.
675th like BTW.
I love it, though I feel like the constantly firing piston is gonna kill the ambiance
We need woolly pistons that don't make noise.
@@theapexsurvivor9538 So, the sound is definitely part of it, but also, because the water is transparent, you're going to see the constant movement.
I also imagine that's a constant stream of block updates relative to the flowing water. I've never written a mod before, but if the water can check and update all water in the cascade everytime the lapis is updated, it'd probably be simpler to have it check one time, and only change behavior if it's updated by placing an adjacent block.
Like floating sand, it's static on spawn, but the second it gets an update, that update updates all blocks around it and causes all connected sand to fall.
Again though, I've never modded minecraft, so maybe I'm wildly off base.
@@d.1241 It would be a lot simpler to just require lapis lazuli to just be touching one of the source blocks.
@@Dynamo33 That's what I mean.
I don't know if it'd be simpler from a code standpoint, but from a user and computational perspective, it has to be. You don't need some, admittedly simple, Redstone, and constant block updates.
@@d.1241 Checking for updates is not much different than checking if its touching a lapis block but I think maybe a redstone powered block would be better since it would allow for control without having a piston
You could try something like this, but with snowballs and soul sand in survival, might be really cool
Cool
Are you gonna do something like this to lag out a server?
@@Kclanks well guess what? they did
The best feature is how much quieter it is, thank you!!
I say, as a suggestion, to replace the Lapis updating with something else, primarily because of the sound of the pistons. Maybe, if possible, like some interaction with some other blocks next to it similar to the conduit arrangement to create the effect, like Lapis on top of a gold block or something. Also, I quite like the sound of roaring waterfalls, something like scaling the sound based on the straight vertical drop of the water.
If its possible, just putting the lapis in a stream without requiring it to update would be great for this
(that or a soap block)
And add sea foam.
I think the best method would be if you just "powered" the source block via redstone, you wouldn't be able to power it directly (in most cases) but you could always power the water source through a solid block.
Rats gonna make me buy a whole pc just to download this mod
and a minecraft*
@@beaconblaster33 and a minecraft, yes
@@beaconblaster33what an english
*clap
This mod is just a necessity for me now. Adds so much immersion to the game with such small features. One suggestion I would have is making it so you just need one lapis block touching one water source block to get the cascade effect everywhere. In my opinion, the pistons constantly firing in the backgroun breaks the illusion.
FINALLY I CAN PLAY WITH SOUNDS NEXT TO WATERFALLS THANK YOUU
I love your content dude! You make the waterfalls look so pretty.
I can add waterfall on list to things my pc needs to fear
Please make another possibility than constantly moving a lapis block because in some servers redstone is disabled.
what
who would disable redstone?
@@grandiewandie disabling redstone is useful for preventing lag
@@sunnovagun3991 if its survival then its litteraly just DISABLEING a big part of the game
@@lotychannel6126 i agree with that but some server do it.
1:15 looks sick you could make an avalanche mod that looks like this
Looks awesome as usual! Amazing job!
insert "I made this" meme
Thank you for being an minecraft youtuber that makes mods that actually updates them and makes most of them public
I can imagine this with that one realistic minecraft water mod
Lovely mod! I think you might have to consider using a different method for triggering the particles since constantly updating the lapiz lazuli with redstone might add some constraints for a server.
@Doctor4T Hi! I’m new here and I love your mods! Can’t wait to see your future mods!
Had no idea you made this mod awesome been loving it for some time now
The last seconds of the video was what I been waiting for xD
THANK GOD!!!!!
i was waiting the entire video for the sound update on the waterfalls
This is a must-have mod from here on out.
I can't wait to see what other effects you add.
thanks for updating this mod, i have been waiting for a looong time
i love the mod, we need a 1.18.2 update epicly tho :)
He just did a few min ago, go check out CurseForge
@@n8thegreat567 oh damn that was quick, it wasnt there before i commented
thanks for updating it
hope the algorithm is happy
Nice vid, the algorythm didn't like it but i absolutely do. You are very talented
That's so awesome!!
I didn't realize you were the one who made effective, it's one of my favorite mods!
Ahaha finally! I just hoped you'll tell it from the start of the video, but you waited till the end... The best denouement ahah
Cool man, very cool waterfalls
The cascade update is cool and all but holy shit thank you for lowering the waterfall volume. I literary did not want to play with your mod bc of that one thing. Very cool that you changed it!
Well, you've done it again. You've made minecraft better in such a simple way
Looks so great doctor4t
THANK YOU FOR FIXING THE LOUDNESS OF THE WATERFALLS! THANK YOU SO MUCH
you've come so far from 16k subs I've been here the whole way
*Ooo brother you’ve done it this time* …again
YES, I wanted effective to update and it happened. Time for illuminations next
Looking forward to playing with the updated version! I noticed some FPS drop in the initial release anywhere there was flowing water underground while on the surface; is this still a factor?
absolutely gorgeous, im gonna bug my friend to add this to her server now
you are one of the few Minecraft moding youtubers that instead of making Minecraft absurdly difficult, or putting funny shit in the game, you make it more realistic without hurting the style of the base game. good on yea!
Well he also does really hard and dumb mods he just locks them behind a pay wall only his supporters get access for example the clownpeirce scythe
Yes yes yes!!! This is so amazing
kinda late, but here's some... weather effect ideas
1) Fog. From the time the sun starts to rise, to the time the sun fully clears the horizon (ignoring obstacles) there is a cloud layer that forms at ocean level, from the surface to, say, 5 to 20 blocks above the water's surface, using similar programming to the already existing cloud generating program in game
2) Heavy Storms. When a weather event happens, there's a chance that a heavy storm will generate. A heavy storm targets a large area (maybe 9 chunk by 9 chunks or higher) where visibility will drop, as if you turned down your render distance to its lowest setting, for as long as the player is in it, but the unloaded color matches the type of storm. Heavy Rainstorms (almost any biome) will have dark grey unloaded coloring, Heavy Snowstorm (any biome where it snows instead of rains) which is either white or a light blue-ish white, and Heavy Sandstorm (desert and maybe mesa biomes) where its a sand-brown color. Visibility would only return when a) the player is outside of the Heavy Storm's radius, or b) the game or mod registers that the player is underground (going into certain caves doesn't count as underground unless either you seal the entrance behind you and are a set distance away from any unsealed entrances)
It would be awesome if the effect would be bigger or goes highe depending on the distance the water travelled down. So when u have a giant waterfall it just doesn't create particles that go 1 block high. Just an Idea ;)
omg so aestetic!
you should make any fall taller than 4 blocks create particles at a low setting, 3 or 4 maybe. just bight be hard to determine fall length
I remember when the mod first came out the experience was as equal as the tv static put at max volume
I love this mod so much. Hope to see a version for 1.20 someday.
I really like your content also my favorite is waterfalls 😁
This is such a cool mod
what I would absolutely love os of you could do it in fabric, me and a few friends are playing fabric mc for a while now and I feel like this mod would absolutely fit our modpack. Either way, this is a absolutely stunning mod you created

Standing creeper spotted
This update is everything I ever wanted and more!
thank god for the audio changes
You know what else is satisfying? Real life water falls
i had a somewhat distant waterfall near my base, the sound was somewhat soothing
Finally version 1.18.2 this beautiful mod.
Noice I like it this would break my computer though
OOH! If you mean updating by vanilla minecraft terms this may also make instant wireless downwards redstone!!
Lapis kind of makes sense too because its a kind of 'magic' ore.
You should make it so when your in a boat and rowing along it causes some ripples or something along the lines of that
I like where this mod is going
DUDE
Im literally creating my custom Minecraft client with a bunch of cool client side mods.
I wanted this mod in it, but I couldn't add it cuz the game version is 1.18.2 and the mod is 1.18.1
Always gave me the "not compatible" error
And now you make an update, literally 1 hour after I was finishing setting things up.
This was perfect timing. Thank you so much for updating the mod!
just when you finish it, can you show it to me?
@@ant2902 um, sure. I did finish it already, but I dont know how im going to show you
just add the realistic water datapack, pray it works with this one, and * chefs kiss *
Thank you :)
Only thing i would add is a system were the particles are bigger if the water falling is longer, would make those tall waterfalls even cooler
Niceeee
Should make the mist spread out from the bottom of the waterfall
This mod is super cool, have you considered going open source with it? It would be a really good learning point for people like me who are new to fabric (and mc modding in general)
Me encantan tus videos espero sigas así saludos desde Guatemala
Nice.
this is more like the snow we want but we did not get
Sea of thieves like waves would be awesome
Add the small lava puddles on the ground from stalagmites and lava
You should change the piston thing to something els or make silent piston:P
Other than that its amazing!!
i can finally put my ears back on tank u
this boi really needs to be on the minecraft developer team/
Yep geysers definitely my first thought
I love how you make it pc only ^_^
Make a height limit where if it’s high it’ll make mist and when its low it’ll make bubbles
I watched the stream where this random "motivation to fix the effects" had occured
gonna heat up my village with this mod and my pc
i honestly liked the waterfalls louder
now minecraft is gonna add the most realistic water possible on purpose to make you make it in game
As a video maker. I can say that this is simply incredible work!🌼
Great
I love this, I only wish they would render correctly in Continuum 2.1. Not your problem though ;)
Maybe make it so lapis doesn’t need to be constantly pushed by pistons, maybe just having a redstone signal going into it activates it. I know that it’s probably more work than it’s worth, but it would be even more realistic and less annoying
now add underwater light scattering :)
One thing, have you optimized for sound length? There's a sound physics mod that suffers really bad with the old waterfall sounds, because there are a lot of individual short sounds... If you were not aware of this, cloud you please consider changing the cascade sounds to a longer one, concatenating a few of the current ones and adjusting for frequency: would sound the same, and would help his system...
[BEWARE TERRA HAS BECOME HOSTILE]
soooo good
1:50 dude started rapping
The falling coom
damn, environmentally friendly lag machine 😳
0:46 LEEEEEEEEEVER
Maybe just to update water blocks after activating lapis block using redstone signal instead of moving by piston?
