Lewis Cornay (the person playing spongebob in that video) visited my college today and had a master class with my performing arts class and taught us this dance. He's so kind and down to earth. And actually being able to learn from him was incredible

I'm not here to judge the performance; this cast will find its own identity in the roles in time. But whoever redesigned the costumes honestly makes this look like a high school/college production. :/
I have to agree. I thought this was rushed, and they tried to copy New York's production. Hopefully, these people will find their own unique traits to give the character.

Saw it in Manchester a few weeks ago and, while not quite the same as the broadway version it was still brilliant. Huge recommendation.

It seems very different from the original version in the US, but i think it still looks amazing and id love to see it in person! You could tell that the actor for SpongeBob was passionate and cared about his role- I know thats easy to find in professional theatre like this but its still so nice to see, especially for someone who hasn't gone into professional theatre yet and has been stuck with "bad" actors multiple times in the past (these actors/actresses werent "bad" because they were poor actors or had bad techniques, some of them are absolutely phenomenal actors but the attitude they give backstage ruins the process of working with them for everyone involved).
The original SpongeBob cast from 2018 is so much than this wtf did spongbob have a stroke

Some of the costume redesigns look cheap and school like. However I love the plankton one as it fits with drag. I do understand that Karen’s costume is done like that as the person playing her doubles up as other characters and some of her costume is a base for them

Not bad, but I still prefer the original cast. There's a part of me I want to say these guys kind of take it a little too over the top.

some people are talking about how the costumes are a bit goofy and personally I like most of them! I think the plankton costume is a bit over the top but its unique! overall this version was actually pretty good!

Adore this show, seen it three times and booked until my sixth! For everyone noting about the costumes, some of the more ‘cheaper’ choices are purposefully meant to reflect recycling at the bottom of the ocean, which I understand isn’t really told. It really is the best fun watching this show, go give them some love and catch them on tour!
Here from the US- I don’t hate this production but I’m used to a completely different take on the characters, the blocking/choreo, THE COSTUMES and set so while it’s not bad by any means, it’s just kind of hard to admire as much as the Broadway run. I see how it would be really fun and cool for the UK due to it never performing there and being such a vibrant musical but in the US, we’ve gone through Chicago, Broadway, and a national tour so we’re more adjusted to a different style. Yet again, if it’s fun then BY ALL MEANS go see it and support live theatre, but I get where some people are coming from with the cheap looking feel.

I am going to see this at the Curve Theatre in Leicester next month! SpongeBob is my all time favourite TV show, and I am excited to see this come to life when I see the musical.

Well, I’m seeing the musical today! I am so excited for it! It’s gonna be the, and I quote, “The best day ever.”
Just saw the musical on Saturday, and it was so amazing! However, I noticed everything from it copied the US version of the musical, but I don’t care if they copied the US version or not. I’ve enjoyed every act from that musical I’ve seen at the Curve! BTW, if you were there, you could’ve heard me whistle them on, because I do have quite a loud finger whistle.
I hate everything about this production. It’s the wish version for sure.
Damn it, I really liked the original bikini bottom pledge choreography 😭😭 it’s good but come on. Like you can’t keep the clap out.

well I saw this Musical last night in Blackpool and it looks amazing in the end I was dancing to SpongeBob theme song and do you know am making my own SpongeBob Musical but it is going to be the same but am going to make it different
Saw this on opening day and it was much better then them on Blue Peter so not sure what's gone wrong.

Unlike everyone else who had to share seats. I had a lady sat on me, with her grandmother on top of her. Whomever pays first gets to sit on top. I wish I had a privat seat

Honestly the costumes need work, this is kind of what people had as an impression of what they thought the musical was going to be, instead with the Broadway version actually being decent rather than goofy looking like this. Not to mention, I don’t like the choreography change. And it’s weird they didn’t have majority of the cast here. (I say this, because whenever the original cast did previews similar to this, they usually had their whole cast so it actually looked more full and better). Not to mention I’m not a big fan of the bikini bottom pledge choreography. However, they sound decent besides maybe the choreography I dislike in comparison to the Chicago/Broadway casts, and maybe like the costumes could’ve stayed the same imo, especially considering the SpongeBob costume really doesn’t give SpongeBob. Should stuck with the regular yellow button up rather than a colorful yellow shirt like that one.
The performances are okay, but what is the costume design here? Sure, some things are cool but compared to the Broadway cast, it’s definitely worse.
Does anybody know if this is a different track or a mixture of two different tracks, if so which parts and where could you find it?

I think this was a shortened version for blue Peter the original song is 8 minutes and I seen that they done the same shortened version in the broadway production when they done it for macys thanksgiving parade back in around 2017

No offense to the actor, but I was driven completely insane.
He said he did his spongebob impression with elements of Lewis (himself) in it so he could still make it his own (a different version, so he stands out as different from others)

No this is a shortened version for the show there performing on, the original song is 7 minutes

@@timlemmens1087The original cast did this version too. This is the version for whenever they do stage previews at talk shows like this one. This is the exact same one the Broadway/Chicago cast did.

I have to agree. I don’t know the cast so I will allow them to settle before making a full verdict however the costumes and voices are much worse then the Broadway version. Atleast in my opinion

I’m going to admit that this cast seems like a school production (at best).
Voices and costumes are awful in my opinion and I feel like they rushed the cast and didn’t typically make the best decision when it came to casting. I have seen them on a few videos and each one I watch gets more and more cringy.
@@Jason-Clark235delvina (plankton) has a great voice and tbh SpongeBob’s voice is pretty good, obviously won’t be the exact same but it’s what makes that cast them
