    his 'drunk and disorderly' charge was dropped in 2018, he died in 1992. it took america over 25 years to drop these bogus charges after his death!!!

    I left a comment but it's disappeared for some reason so I'll leave it again.
    This brought tears to my eyes. An important story that I've never heard before and one that should be taught to children in school. We learn about Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King but we need to learn more about the brutality of America's racist history. This story and Emmet Till's and others. I've also started learning more about Native Americas and there's a lot of trauma there too.

      Because it is hard to watch this kind of stuff. In 2005, I was in jr high and we had a slavery unit. I remember seeing black men tied to trees being sliced open with whips. I do not like seeing the treatment those poor souls endured. It makes me sick. This video was on auto play so I’m here.

    This man didn't deserve to be treated like this, I'm glad I learned some more about black history through this. Even though this Isaac Woodard Jr. was so mistreated the black community and later others supported him in which his mistreatment even led to the integration of the military. But even if he wasn't a veteran no human being should have to go through this just because of a different skin color.

    It disturbs me to my CORE to know that Mr. Isaac was not the first nor the last man of color to experience such a heinous act just for their skin that God gave him. I am very happy to know that his story made such an impact with change because it is not often that the world uses their gifts of eyes to SEE! God bless Isaac 🙏🏻

    Just horrible how they treated Mr. Issac Woodard. Thank God for the NAACP. I’m glad he was able to change the world however I’m upset he had to be beaten and mistreated to do so. His story is definitely an eye opener.

    Holy the police chief that blinded him, was found not guilty and died 3 month after Sir Isaac passed away.

    This wasn't mentioned, but during the trial, the police chief who beat Issac blind's defense attorney hurled racial epithets at Issac until the judge stopped and later told the all-white jury that if they voted against his client that the state of South Carolina should secede again. The jury found the police chief not guilty on all charges, despite his admission that he had indeed blinded Issac. The courtroom broke into applause upon hearing the verdict.

    This makes me so MAD to hear this especially as a veteran during war-time. I would have fought those cops and send them to the hospital and taken his place. I think a switch would have gone off in me I couldn't turn off and wouldn't for the sake of just being American and human. This needs to be taught to every veteran and police.

    Whenever I hear stories like this it just makes the bile in stomach rise. That bus driver, those police off era and that jury of morons should have been the ones to rot in jail. Just because someone doesn't have the same skin color or ethnicity as you, you look down on them?     Is it me or is it that we still find a way to praise the white people in the story. Dam who the president appointed and dam the lil white girl who sent a letter from Germany All we do is March and preach.. when will we ever get the back bone to shed blood back. No war or no freedom comes without bloodshed and I’m not a violent man but I do believe an eye for an eye

    This is a horrible story thats sadly hasnt changed much since then. The amazing part of the story is how all the influential Black People coming to together to help Isaac in his time of need. My people can be great when they want to. Ill do my part to spread the story of Mr. Isaac Woodard to future generations so his sacrifices made for his people and his country will never be forgotten.
