I felt so bad for the enemy soldier in my game who had 20,000 damage. But still lost because his team wouldn’t stop dying or wasting ults on us. But it was a close game
One time the enemy team had a bap with fucking 60 kills on a payload game 15k damage with like 5k healing
And a soldier with similar stats
Literally everyone else on their team had like 20 kills with around 5k-7k damage
My team entire had around 30 kills and 9k to 17k damage
We won
Took nearly half an hour but we won
Mostly because no one pushed the fucking cart
@@Literally___Me My longest game was in overwatch one. Back when I used to be stuck as a gold tank. We literally had a game go on for two hours, junker town. We ended up winning but it felt like a loss with how long the game was.

A lot of people really don't understand how important postioning is.
My aim is absolutely disgusting, but it's completely useless if I am not in a good spot to capitalize on it.
I have learned that for the last 3 weeks, as my positioning has been getting better, my rank has exponential increased.
with disgusting aim what rank are you now ? and what heroes do you use ? as i got older my aim became worst and worst so i was wondering how far can you go with very good positioning and average technical skills

Hey metro , I’m a masters 4 soldier, high ground is very important yes, so is flanking, I typically engage with my team and once a pick is secured I then take an off angle to clean up
you have to at higher ranks i feel like the team groups up more heavily even in high end metal ranks
im stuck at plat. im good at QP but lose my confidence at COMP. what should i do ?
@@mhije8388play comp as if it's quick play and don't get emotionally attached to your wins and losses. Just play it as if it's the only mode and you're playing to win.
@@mhije8388jus play comp and no qp, as long as you play quick play it will always feel easy and safe to fall back to, yeah it’s scary to lose your rank and what not, but it’s gonna be something you’ll have to accept, otherwise you may aswell stay playing qp
@@mhije8388 i agree with this other person, you really gotta just jump in. I was plat for 2 seasons straight but i worked hard at playing comp every sesh and improving positioning and ranked up to masters over a season

"My aim was mediocre" gm players (me included) are so hard their bubble that they often forget what "mediocre" aim actually is. Plat is the average (mediocre) player. Watch a plat pov metro and THEN u see what REAL mediocre aim looks like.

29:27 genuinely curious here. isn't this a good tree? the tree saved their 1hp anti hog from dying by blocking all the bullets or is it better to let the hog die and use the tree in the fight
So we were already up 1 in the fight while being in a far superior position with me on the highground and none of my teammates in danger.
On a higher rank, that tree ends up most likely doing nothing, yea it saves the hog but they will still have to regroup and should not really way a way to push in. In this case my team pushed ijnto it instead of backing out, if they back out nothing on the enemy team can really kill any of us.

What do you do if the team youre playing with takes 76 before you can and won't give it up?
@@Who-fz1rd agreed. But if somebody's doing an unranked to gm, if someone takes their hero do they back out immediately or have to start over?
@@monstermoss813 usually it is an instant lock. If they get their hero taken, they’ll usually ask. If you’re a big content creator that’s t500, most people would let you have it since it is most likely a free win. If they don’t get it, depending on the streamer, they might dodge or just play another hero. Not that big of a deal, viewers probably don’t care since it is one game out of 100 games the streamer plays for gm

Mechanics absolutely matter in a shooter game, but mechanics ALONE will make you struggle as you climb. Because everyone else will be making better decisions, and eventually your opponents can aim too.

Repetition is key to learning the skill, it gets a lot of views which is his income, it’s beneficial for both reasons. It would be pretty painful to watch the same stream over and over and over again when you could watch multiple streams/vods and play alongside of the streamer if that’s the way you happen to learn best. Most people watch these because they’re here to passively absorb the real time decision making against players in their own rank, so that they’re able to mimic that same behaviour by example and that these videos are entertaining. They’re easy to pop on while you’re doing your homework or drawing or playing the game yourself. Plenty of reasons for content like this really 🤷♂️

good communication, high team morale, ult tracking call-outs, touch call-outs, coordinating ults and even micromanaging - can 100% be useful and help you rank up when done effectively. there are so many factors that can get you a win, and communication is one of them. obviously it’s not necessary and i spend loads of games out of vc and win, but every factor can win you a game. you can win games in gm with little elims/dmg but effective ult usage and ult tracking. i think when done effectively, good communication can turn fights and win games, it’s strange you haven’t experienced it before.

Agreed. High-skill-floor based characters (i.e. Ball) require better positioning and better mechanical skill compared to low-skill-floor characters (such as Soldier). That being said the skill-ceiling for both characters is high, but in comparison Ball's is significantly higher. Basically, Ball is harder to become insanely good at than Soldier is.
