Very cool Jessica ! You did a great job explaining the process as well 😃
Glad you liked it :)
Nice demo and good work. I appreciate NO MUSIC! And thank you for not wearing makeup and being all dressed up like some of the women showing jewelry making. Nice to see a natural face and plain hands without a dozen distracting rings and things.
Lovely enameling! Looks like so much fun. I wonder if you should stick with just propane instead of oxygen - burns less hot. What are your thoughts on that?
One tip - keep camera focus on the pieces not on the speaker. We can hear you and it would be nice to see what you are talking about at the same time. Great demo!
I use a propane torch now and it works well. It just takes a little longer. Also, we will be having an enameling livestream on October 30, feel free to join us then if you wish. I will be enameling using a kiln.
Good Morning , Jessica !

Love the way they turned out Jess!
Thanks!
This is exactly my experience with enamel... though I didn’t have the sifters, and we used a standard propane torch. Nice little setup though.
Awesome! Thank you.
Wow Jessica, you are really mastering you enameling copper skills, nice job!! Wayne
Thank you! I consider this level pretty entry level in comparison to all the different sets of skills there are within enameling. Thanks for watching, Jessica
Very cool. And at home finally👍👍
Yes, the best part! I look forward to getting in more enamels so I can do further projects and experiments! ~Jessica
Jess you are really getting good at enameling! They all look great!
Thanks so much! I guess it is like they say... practice makes perfect :) ~Jessica

Really nice, I did enameling back in the day in college. Keep ip the good work
How cool!
Nice hobby or business Jess, must be fun seeing these items start to take shape and see how nice the enamel comes out.
Yes, I enjoy watching the stages compile to make the completed project :) My oldest daughter loves to help too
I wonder if you could use an HHO torch for this?
Hi Jessica! I had no idea that one doesn't need a kiln to make copper enamel. I have to try this!!!
Possible to enamel a steel sink black using a butane torch?
Morning Ms. Jess.
Looking good. Your really picking thus art form up very nicely and doing nice work. Apprentice hands i see lol, good to teach good work practices early.
🙏Blessings abundant,
Crawford out 🧙♂️
Our oldest daughter loves artwork and adores helping with this. Have a great day! ~Jessica
Thanks for the info
You're welcome!
Very nice.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I haven't done any enameling like that since I was in high school always like the crackle finish I'm at Dad's groin what part of Michigan job moving to I just caught a piece of the new shop tours or y'all was talkin about the cracks and holes I would suggest spray foam insulation like the whole wall it's going to get cold
The crackle is definitely awesome! We will be in the Alpena area (north eastern side in lower Michigan). We plan on replacing several of the boards and putting up batten strips. Thanks for watching, Jessica
You are at DAD'S GROIN??!! Do you know what GROIN means?
it was probably a talk-to-text error I'm a truck driver I was probably in Dearborn Michigan dad's groin that was funny the words they substitute sometimes
Very nice
Thanks Grayem. Have a great day!
Hi Jess, nice job. They look good. Would you tell me what the acid is you use? I remember you or Roy talking about it, but dont remember the name.
Thanks
I'm using a strong vinegar, generally used for cleaning. We picked it up at home depot. ~Jess
Hey, Jess, looks like you have begun to accumulate some nice enameling stuff!
It's just the beginning... LOL. ~Jessica
hi, how does it works on round surface?
You can enamel a domed surface if you spray with a mixture of 1:1 ratio of klry fire to water before applying the enamel. ~Jessica at Christ Centered Ironworks
Very cool Jessica!! Could a MAPP gas torch work for this? I believe it's basically a small oxy/acet torch. (?). Also, the enamelling powder....more or less, is it fine ground glass? Do you need an adhesive or fluxing agent, on the bare metal, before enamel powder application? Thanks! This might get me to dabble in expanding my (too many) hobbies. Lol
Yes, a mapp gas torch would work just fine. A lot of enamelist use that with a hot head tip. The enamelling powder is finely ground glass call "vitreous enamel". Flux is not required, but the metal has to be clean from scale and oils from your hand. There is a holding agent called Klry-Fire which can be sprayed on a piece prior to sprinkling on the enamel (especially helpful on domed objects). It is a fun thing to dabble in :) Blessings, Jessica
@@ChristCenteredIronworks thanks Jess😀👍⚒️
Hey Jess. They are really cool. Can you only do that with copper, or could you do it on steel too?
Would also love to know about this method on mild steel 🤙🏻
From my understanding, mild steel can be enameled but not stainless steel. I haven't tried it yet. ~Jessica
@@ChristCenteredIronworks Cheers Jess. I'm going to give this a go. : )
May i please purchase a pair of sea green earrings? So lovely.
Sure hope you had a mask on when sifting the enamels….especially for your little helper.
Something REALLY important - don't forget to anchor your acetylene tank to something stable, like your table leg, to avoid a potential disaster, should the tank fall over
