I think what makes this scene sad in a subtle way is this feels like a simple echo of who Toji used to be. And I think the music reflects that. This isn't necessarily him we see in this part of the story, but a piece of him, being led around by the bindings of a curse someone else put on him. He's just a lost soul, running rampant by the effects of someone elses will, who isn't even alive to direct him anymore. This is part of why Shibuya is such a big, huge tragedy in the story of JJK. So much happens that goes wrong for all of our main characters and everyone around them. Even here their is no savior for our heroes. Toji is just another threat, taking out a much smaller threat that they themselves couldn't even handle. It's like normal humans being helpess at the sight of two titans duking it out for supremacy. Even in this same arc, Toji's once intimidating power pales in comparison to Sukuna's overwhelming presence. What we are literally seeing is what was once a top-tier threat in the verse, someone we already thought was practically unbeatable, getting overshadowed by a newer, more terrifying foe.

It's like the high powers of the past era coming back, only to be swallowed by the flames of Sukuna. What i find really cool about 1:25 and how it plays Delirious is that it isnt the only time we hear this type of theme, you can hear it in "With Rage", which plays during the Geto VS Toji fight. This theme can probably represent Toji and his impact on Geto and Gojo, showing how it was both in Delirious and With rage. His influence was a large part in how the story turned out and i find this super cool. (Also Toji is just a cool character due to him not needing/being able to use any techniques and using pure hands and cursed tools while still keeping up with some pretty strong characters.)

this has been used a lot in season 2, but surprisingly it hasn't gotten old. Its weirdly really good.
