  • I had a customer coming in to take the Fantasia we had in stock for a test drive so David and I quickly put I put it together and then of course I had to make sure it worked before the customer came and for you!! I do REALLY like the Fantasia Wheel and highly recommend it. Kelli and I have always liked all of the Kromski brand wheels. Kelli's favorite is the Sonata. Mine is the Minstrel but now...I can say the spin experience on the Fantasia is every bit as good as the Minstrel. If you have a relatively short body or are under 5'6" I highly recommend taking it for a test drive. The Fantasia's profile is lower than that of both the Sonata and the Minstrel.
You can find the wheels discussed here. BlackSheep can dropship these or get them into the shop and put it together for you for in store pick up.

I absolutely am in love with my Komski and Tasia. It’s spins like a dream and can do every single thing I wanted to do.

Did not see how you installed the drive band on after the wheel was assembled? I need to change my drive band and can’t figure how to do it without taking my wheel apart.

we had a little trouble with that as well! you have to either take off the pedal connectors to get the drive band around them or cut your drive band and heat it up to join it up again. (we optend to disconnect the pedals). Alternatively I have replaced my drive bands on other wheels with linen or cotton chord. I suggest you try it as it is an inexpensive method that has at least worked for me.

Greetings, I love your video! And I’m thinking about buying a Fantasia rather than an Ashford Joy 2 or Kiwi 3, even though it’s not a folding SW. I’m 4’10.5” in height, so I’m wondering what the orifice height is and also what the footprint is at the base of the Fantasia? Do you ship to British Columbia? And, if I was to purchase the unfinished wheel, would Ashford’s beeswax be a product one could use to finish it? Thank you, in advance, for your assistance. Yours in Gratitude

wow! ;) apologies it took me a bit to get back to you but I was sick this week. Ashfords Beeswax would work well to finish the unfinished natural wheel yes. your height is not the deciding factor I find in finding a wheel that fits you. it is wheel oraface to arm height. Are you all leg or mostly body? I am 5foot 7 and split evenly. if you have a longer body when seated your arms shit hit this wheel nicely. If I had a Fantasia here right now I would encourage you to pay me a visit in the Portland area however I only have a minstral (mine!).

I see you are in Hillsboro. I live on the Sunshine Coast of BC, so I could either drive down OR I could have you deliver it to a mail service in Point Roberts, WA and drive over the border to pick it up OR do you ship to Canada? The nearest Kromski dealer is in Alberta, which means a trip over the Rockies. Your thoughts on how I might purchase a Fantasia (plus the 2 faster whorls) from your business? Yours in Gratitude

Hi Wendy! We can drop ship, ship to across the border or mail to Canada! You can get this on our webpage as a drop ship but in the notes section can update with details.

I am buying my first wheel and I love how the fantasia looks but I want the option to do double drive because I tend to spin fingering on my spindles and think I would use that function. I have spun only a handful of times on the following: Matchless, Louet
S10 and a Kromski Symphony. Which are all owned by a family friend. I just love the treadle action on the Symphony and just from watching videos I feel like the minstrel will give me a similar feel. I am also interested in doing bulkier yarns because it’s something I absolutely can’t master on my spindles. Do you think I’m over thinking it and would be happy on the fantasia or is it worth it to go with the minstrel for double drive? (I am only 5’ and have an adjustable chair so I don’t think the height will matter much)

You would probably be happy on the fantasia however my favorite wheel is the minstral and I use it on its double drive function almost exclusively. Kelli used the Sonata and loves it. The Sonata is great for fingering up to bulky. The double drive function on the Minstral produces fingering weight without trying and if I put on a lace flyer I can produce the finest lace weight yarn with little effort. I did not miss the east of spinning lace until I produced it!

I’m pretty evenly divided, I think. I can’t reach the floor with my feet. And where petite clothes are designed for the 5’4” or under, the waist on these clothes comes to my hip! So, perhaps I’m short-waisted for the fashion industry, I believe I’m totally in proportion within my body. I know that a 26” orifice height can work for me - it’s what I have on my ancient ashford saxony style single treadle/double drive wheel. Yours in Gratitude, wendy.@@ATwistedPicot

    Hi again,
I’m wondering if you are the Kromski dealers at Paradise Fibers, who got back to me so quickly! Since I live on the Sunshine Coast in BC, if you are the owners of Paradise Fibers, I’d be willing to drive to your shop to purchase a wheel. It would be at last a 12 hr trip for us, including a ferry ride to Vancouver, but your demonstration video was so nicely done that I’d like to support your shop. I believe the nearest Canadian dealer is either over the Rockies somewhere in Alberta (and not working just now) or thousands of miles away in Quebec or rural Ontario. Sooooo, a couple of days of driving seems quite a good option to me :-). Yours in Gratitude

No we are A Twisted Picot not Paradise Fibers. They are IN Spokane. We are now only an online store but used to have a storfront in Hillsboro Oregon.

I have spun on the ashford brand quite a bit as well. There is something oh so much smoother and refined about the Kromski wheels.
