I can see your authenticity, it seems very obvious to me and I enjoy the realness! Some people are just very critical. To be honest, I’m not even a minimalist, let alone an extreme minimalist, and I love your content. I found your channel after searching minimalism for inspiration. It’s inspiring to me because I’ve been overwhelmed with stuff so I’ve been watching minimalist videos and slowly decluttering over the course of the last 2 years. It started when our basement flooded and all that junk and stuff had to be thrown out or washed/aired out. I was embarrassed when we called the company to come drain our basement and the workers were having to move all the overwhelming amount of items around. It was a real turning point for me and listening and watching your process has helped me with my own journey of simply decluttering. Right now for me it’s about being less overwhelmed by clutter by having less items. Your content has been sooo helpful with considering what we truly need and being intentional with purchases. Thank you for your videos and for being authentic, I look forward to watching your future videos! :)

She's very inspiring. I've decluttered more of my sewing stuff because of this channel and realized I can still make garments with even fewer sewing tools and notions. I found a store nearby that takes donations of art and craft supplies and they take fabric scraps and things like elastic, lace, etc.
She's also a vegan and we're vegan, I respect her so much for that. She's so genuine.

Awww ❤ Lydia, thank you for your vulnerability and truth. It’s lovely knowing your name. I don’t just watch your videos for the minimalism aspects, I truly appreciate your personality and sweetness that you bring through in your work. It’s like hanging out with a good friend and having a good chat.
Haters ultimately hate themselves but want to strike out to what they are seeing, instead of turning the light on themselves and asking “Why do I feel the need to shame or attack someone else!”

I LOVE Your channel and Your videos. Please ignore the haters, they're everywhere, there is plenty of hating comments under the kindest videos in the whole youtube. Don't pay attention to them. There is plenty of people that watch your videos, getting inspiration from you everyday and usually those people (like me) never leave comments but maybe we should be. I had a huge instagram few years ago and I deleted it because of haters. I feel like I let down all of the other people that were supporting me. We should just ignore them.
And I love to watch any minimalism videos, both extreme and not extreme. Your content is amazing, please do not change! :) Greetings from Maidenhead xxx

I’ve followed for a while but I don’t think I’ve ever commented before, but now seems a good time to chip in. I’m sorry you are getting such negativity from haters. I think extreme minimalism is one of those subjects that is by its nature polarising, because it’s very challenging to the status quo. Your haters are probably just triggered by their own insecurities and find it easier to be mean than to do any self inquiry. I enjoy your content and when I see “extreme minimalism” in a video title I click on it because I’m fascinated by it and find it aspirational. I have always found your process-oriented videos interesting and real. I hope you keep doing your extreme minimalism videos.

Hi Lydia, please, please ignore the haters. People have a choice to watch or not.Your channel is great, you have a purpose, a goal; travel. You’ve done nothing wrong. You are an ‘extreme minimalist’, please do not change for people who do not agree with you, understand you. Your 14 item challenge was enjoyable; an experiment. Believe it or not, some people live this way. Like others here, your channel has helped me a lot. I too have been decluttering for several years. It helped me to understand my discontent with having too much stuff around me.
You are growing, changing, all the things you want to put on your new channel, I am happy to see on this channel. You do what makes you happy…I’ll be watching.🌺🌸🌼💐PS you don’t need forgiveness…💖please do not be hard on yourself.

I've been watching your channel for a while now, but I don't always comment on videos. I really recommend you turn off notifications for comments and only check comments maybe once a week or so just to get a feel for how people are reacting to your videos. Pay most attention to the comments with the most likes. And remember that some people go around making negative comments because they have nothing better to do in their life. They just have a sad negative life and they don't have a better way of dealing with it other than spewing hate and negativity all over the internet and all over the people in their lives and you shouldn't take everything to heart. I do hope you continue to make the videos you want to make. I am enjoying your path to extreme minimalism, but if you want to make other types of content I'm here for that as well.

Please don’t worry about the stats of views on them, a lot of your audience might not be able to catch each one as they are released - some might binge them later on when they have more time.

I think you have a sweet, loving and kind personality that truly shines through. You've inspired me to go minimalist because I bought way too much stuff during the pandemic. Love seeing the process, because I'm going through the process myself :) It takes time, and trying out different methods can help us to see how we can continue to pare down possessions while still enjoying life. Mistakes can happen both ways, whether decluttering an item we actually need or purchasing one we don't. Life is not perfect, enjoy the experience! I enjoy trying out different exercises like wearing the same few items for weeks at a time. It helps to see how often things need to get washed, and how I feel about it. Thank You ☺️ I am very positive 99% of the time. In fact in all my videos I’ve put out I’ve only ever put 2 out just to address some issues. That I’ve really wanted to do to deal with mindful thought process as a part of minimalism. I honestly really don’t feel that I need help in this area. In fact after a lot of perspective gathering over the past few years I’m doing a video soon about finding my own path with minimalism. That will involve never watching or barely watching any other minimalist channels. As obviously all our lives are sometimes not transferable or comparable. I made this video despite being a very positive person to also question any egotistical thoughts. I didn’t want to think or assume I am always right in my choices. It was a thought out intentional decision to make this video. So I can deal with this growing issue once and for all and continue with a positive minimalist mindset. @@SagelifeMinimalism some people genuinely are unhappy, and that unhappiness will come across with them spending time trying to make other people feel down too. Most of them won't realise they are doing it for that reason. But most negative comments come from someone who has their own things going on. The happiest people I know either don't care what other people are up to, or stick to things they can feel enthusiastic about, or pop a bit of sarcasm/good humour on. People who are hurtful, usually are hurt. You don't have to inherit their misery.

Also, watching RUclips is a funny thing. People feel like they know you enough to pass an opinion. The problem is you don't know them. Sometimes I watch things you do or don't have and I think "gosh that would be a bit of a nightmare not having that" or "why if she's not got an extra t shirt has she got xyz thing". But that's the beauty of it, you've got things you feel you need to live your life as best you can. You'd have heart failure in my house some of the things I keep that we don't need. But I like having them and it's my house.

Ignore them and continue to be unapologetically you. Be your own kind of minimalism for yourself, but continue to share that wisdom with others if that’s what you feel called to. ❤ one more thing, almost all successful people have a tonne of haters out there. To be so known you have haters can be seen/framed as a positive thing.

Dear Lydia, I don't know where to begin. I have so much to say. Like a few others on this video, I am not a regular commenter. I am definitely more of a lurker! 😊 But I really really enjoy your videos. I look forward to watching them on my breaks at work and when I am washing up at home as your content makes my day brighter. I really enjoy your thoughtfulness and analytical nature that you have (I do too) and appreciate hearing about your extreme minimalist journey. I started decluttering in October 2020 (I didn't know I was going to become a minimalist then). Then in the last year or two I have been drawn more to extreme minimalist content as I can relate more. As you've talked about in a prior video, some minimalist channels seemed more like just organised homes. Which is fine, but I started to feel overwhelmed by seeing how much stuff they had left (silly, I know). But watching your channel makes me feel so peaceful and I can actually take ideas and thoughts away from watching you, as well as being entertained. I want you to be happy and make videos that you want to make first and foremost. My favourites are the challenges you do and the extreme minimalist content, however I do enjoy topics like mindfulness, slow and intentional living, just chatty updates. Anything you want. Your joy and enthusiasm for a video makes your video brighter, even if it not as many people click on it due to it not having extreme minimalism in the title. But of course I understand that you want people to watch due to your efforts in making your videos. One last thing I will say is that I think people are really drawn to extremes of things (not just minimalism). In the case of stuff, people seem to love watching hoarder-related content because that level of hoarding is not something you see everyday. On the flip side, people who are not even interested in minimalism are drawn to videos about living out of a backpack (or bum bag! 😊) because it is an extreme that most people will never see or do for themselves. Having an interest in viewing these things is not wrong, of course. What I do think is wrong is when people choose to click on and watch this type of content but then proceed to complain about it in the comments. I don't understand. If it offends them that much then why do they watch it?! I feel as if people are trying to have their cake and eat it too. Watch something extreme out of curiosity but then reserve the right to complain that the lifestyle choice is too extreme. Anyway, I'm sorry for the long message. I hope you are doing better and feeling a weight off of you now. Love from another human in an English coastal town, Emily. Xx ❤

I am always amazed at how many people have so much time to watch videos and leave such negative, nasty, and non constructive advice. I'm much older than you, but I can assure you that with time, you will come to realize that their comments say much more about them and their sad lives than they do about you. There is an old saying that I live by and it goes something like this, " Those who matter don't mind , and those who mind, don't matter"

Very nice to “meet “ you Lydia! Your name is as beautiful as your heart. I’m no where close to being a minimalist, but, do very much desire a simpler life. I have been decluttering, and working toward a minimal waste lifestyle. Also, getting my bearings on having a chemical free, or as close to it as I can, home. Sometimes I experience anxiety when watching the extreme content, nevertheless, I watch it anyway, because I do find it inspiring. I don’t believe I have ever commented on your channel, but, felt this video deserved it. Thank you for sharing today. Take care and looking forward to the new channel as well.

It's quite surprising that there would be anyone who would speak against what you do! A thought came across that if you're being successful, could it be youtube 'bots' who are putting these comments forward....in the hopes YOU'D maybe go away? You know one of the things that I love about your channel...is you and your accent. Even after I've seen one of your videos, the way you say words lingers long after in my mind...and I love that! I have been here on this channel since the beginning and i am so grateful youre making These Videos.
I also recently stumbled over certain subreddits regarding you and i find what people say there just mean.
Just think about that, the people who like your Videos don't comment most of the time. Because they don't have a problem of the video and are happy with it.
The others that write bad things are disconnected or don't relate to the topic in Person or some weird different reasons.
I am in extreme minimalist too and I appreciate your videos very much!
Normal people just don't get how it is with less and how you can want less on your own choice
So dont let anything anyone says here get to you
I feel connected to you even if I don't know you
We have been through this journey together and I know that a lot of others feel the same way
So don't change yourself or change something for people who you wouldnt even want to understand
I feel like you are a really good person
    Please stay yourself
I hope some of this resonated with you❤
You live on your terms and you decide to shared your life on the internet.

Hi, I don't usually comment on your videos but I wanted to say that I find them interesting and helpful. Please don't take the criticism to heart as there are many reasons that people make these sorts of comments. Your content is authentic, original and fun. You experiment and think about what you do and the feelings that arise in an effort to live your best life without negatively impacting the environment. I have watched most of your videos but sometimes I'm not in the mood for content that might challenge me or make me feel uncomfortable and I found that I couldn't watch your daily extreme decluttering videos every day but watched several in a row when I was in the right frame of mind. Many people like variety and watch content according to their mood and energy levels. I hope you keep making your content whether it be about extreme minimalism, zero waste or whatever you feel drawn to say because you are making a difference.

It’s easy for me to say this because I’m not the one experiencing it so please take my recommendation and thoughts with a grain of salt. 1. You are in the entertainment industry and anyone who pretends to be blind to that fact is fooling themselves. 2. Even with your having taken on this type of entertainment job, you are sharing your personal life with a worldwide audience meaning the audience should offer levity with their comments. 3. If YOU are interested in extreme minimalism then you should make content on that because your passion will show through and that makes it entertaining. Additionally, when it is your passion, this includes the challenges, then your point and the lessons come across much clearer than when you are just trying to please everyone. Final thoughts, I know this is a business and that is wonderful, but do what is important to you. When you come across “those” comments, delete them and block the person. Life is way too short and full of obstacles to allow additional nonsense in. Personally, I am a minimalist but not extreme and I am VERY interested to learn more about being extreme. I see your struggles when you go around declutterring and trying to work out the “should I, shouldn’t I” because I experience it too. Don’t change unless it’s for you!

Quite frankly your amount of stuff is extreme in relation to the "average" UK home content. Anything that helps people see that there are ways to live woth a lot less is needed. Please don't give up on talking and showing your stuff cos it is such an important part of changing toxic consumerism habits. Consistant content about staying minimal is a way i stay on yrack or get back on track. Please ignore the negativity. You have a right to do what you love. ❤

I hope everyone acknowledges how hard it would’ve been to make this video. I really love the considered way you worked through this. And at the end of the day, this is for you, you should make videos the way you want to make them. I also loved Heal my Living, also Lefie, Rebecca Sisson and some others who have stopped making or greatly reduced their YT output.
Those throwaway comments of people hating on you are just that: people searching for places that they can make a comment on. They aren’t your audience, I see them on vegan channels too - they can’t just move on without comment.
I watched channels for the person, or the production style, not the title of the video. I seem to gravitate to smaller, newer channels, because I like the authenticity that small channels have, so many I have stopped watching, or don’t watch all of them any more, because they became all about sponsors, and the person became less themselves. I don’t mind sponsors, especially if it something I want to consider, but it can overload and also cause weird videos just to try and tie a paid slot in. I like Leena Norms’ approach to this.
I think most people feel pigeonholed as their channel gets older, and have to have a think about how to handle it - it’s a process. Patricia Mycyk used to be called A Small Wardrobe, then she started a second channel to talk about style because she didn’t feel it fitted in to having a tiny wardrobe, now she has changed the channel name to her own, so she can have more freedom to make videos on what ever topic she wants to.

There's a word for the people who take pleasure in criticizing and complaining about things they know nothing about and who try to make others feel "less than", and that word is "bully". I don't know why some people are bullies or how putting others down somehow seems to make them feel better about themselves. I don't understand it, I've never understood it and I doubt I ever will. What I do know however, and this is the part the I hope you'll really take to heart and realize, is that the problem isn't and never will be about you, it's about them. And because the issue is with them and not with you, unfortunately there's nothing you can do to fix it, or appease them, or change them in any way. I know it's difficult, but the only thing you can really do is ignore them. There's another youtuber I watch who will block anyone who repeatedly makes negative comments and honestly I think this is justified and I hope it's something that you'll consider. I've always enjoyed your videos no matter what they're about and I hope all the love and positive comments that I've read here help you to know that you are appreciated and valued. Before I retired, I had a sign on the wall in my office that said "I can only please one person per day. Today's not your day, and tomorrow isn't looking good either". Spending your time and energy trying to please everyone isn't worth the heartache and anxiety, it'll never be 100% and if it's 90% now than I'd say that's pretty darn good!

      @SagelifeMinimalism  24 дня назад +2

It a funny one though isn’t it because clickbait is really defined as the video being nothing at all about what was proposed in the title? Whereas I believe my video titles, do just describe what is in the video. So I’m not sure how it would be possible to have a good catchy title otherwise? I’m sure content is made to be of interest to people and the title reflects that? So I’m not sure what the remedy is? To not make content that is as interesting on a broader scale so the trolls don’t come 🤷‍♀️ I suppose I need to embrace the fact that with a successful video (in terms of views) also comes the trolls 🧌 😊

I think some people wouldn't be content until you're living with a blanket (no pillow) on a wood floor. They'd still wonder if you lived somewhere cold enough to need a blanket. One dress (jeans and a top is 2 things so can't do that) and a door key. But you have to consider whether their comments matter enough not to make those videos, or whether you can still make that content and ignore it. Those people won't stop so you can only think about how you can best act and react, to promote your own happiness.

That may have been thinking 🤔 I really enjoy that channel but the ‘extreme minimalist’ content is over done. I definitely didn’t want anyone to think it was for any other reason than the pursuit of minimalism and creative video making. It’s ok because I’m brave enough to ‘feel’ and be vulnerable. I feel I’ve set the record straight and can move on. No comments will stop me making videos as the joy of others is greater than the few who hate. 😊 💚
