A quick video on how to enter the bios on a Toshiba Qosmio F60. the Simple way is to mash the F12 button as you power up the machine

Hi ricks,
I have got a new SSD and i want to do a fresh install and as per the MS support,i need to set SATA mode to AHCI in BIOS.
Thing is when i press F2 on my Qosmio F60 it goes to Setup Utility and there's no option to change this SATA mode.
Can i not use SSD with this model?

It might be a bios limitation more so than that SSD
I would just try and install anyway

So happy rn and it feels like my laptop has been reborn.
Nvidia driver also installed automatically and everything so far working fine.

I lost my media creation tool. How do I go about reinstalling windows 10 and what version would you recommend?

I have the exact same laptop. It turns on but shows black screen. Sometimes, I can get into BIOS but when it restarts, it just goes back to black screen.

All you can do is a Wipe and Reinstall of Windows 10, that will lose you data unless you backup your machine to an external hard drive prior

download and run "Create Windows 10 installation media"

You can use the windows 7 product key on the bottom of your machine to activate windows 10 when installing it with the media creation tool

I don't get it; why do you mash it, exactly? And what button did you try before F12?
The user manual, which can be found online, says "Hold down F12 and turn the computer on. When the Qosmio logo screen appears, release the F12 key."

Alot of old PC's and laptops usually skip the input, so to make sure I hit the button at the right time I simply tap it
