I have 3 sets of the Planetary coin sets. My family and friends thought i was nuts spending that much money when the sets were first put on sale through Auspost outlets.
If you put all the coloured $2 coins on a table and asked collectors to take one coin - and only one - the mars would win easily. That makes it the most wanted!
You make a good point and I do agree however we must consider the current price of the coins also and because the Mars coin comands such a high price, most will most likely never own this coin. This is why I like doing these top 5 videos because not matter where certain coins are on the list everyone has different opinions which is good to see. I respect everyone's opinion, I can see that most of the comments are for the Mars coin to be number 1 which I respect and I was debating on whether to put it number 1 however I think the most wanted coin at this time is the 2022 red poppy. Thank you for the support and taking the time to watch and comment on the video. I really do appreciate it, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Hi Ozzy, great video. Well presented as usual. I didn’t know about the Mars coin. Mate. I got 1985 sets as investment. Have a great weekend mate. Poppy as no. 1 it’s a toss up for the rest however as I never heard of Mars I would place that in a Top coin
Thank you Des! Not sure if a lot know about the Mars coloured $2 coin as it did fly under the radar for a few years until the last 2-3 years where it gained a lot of attention. Nice work mate, I do feel that the 1985 mint sets should do well in the long term as several of the coins are low mintage and hard to find in circulation. Its always hard putting a top 5 video together, I just went with the red poppies as they always seem to be in demand and I went with the 2022 red poppy as it was and is the most wanted coin right now. Thank you Des. Have a great weekend! Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch the video, I appreciate your input and opinion.
Number 1 coin is the 2009 Double strike $2 coin. Number 2 is the Mars Planetary 2017 $2 coin, Number 3 is the 2012 Red poppy $2 coin, Number 4 is the purple coronation $2 coin, Number 5 is the 2020 Tooth Fairy $2 coin😊
Good choice! It is a nice looking coin. I think if I had my time again, the Mars $2 coin would go number 1 as I was tossing up between that or the red poppies. Thanks for watching! I appreciate you taking the time to comment & give your opinion.
My top 5 would be: 1. Mars. 2. 2013 Queen's Coronation 3. 2012 R.S.L carded red poppy. 4. Any bullseye error $2. They are found in circulation very rarely. 5. The re-issue red poppy. Common errors, such as die fill, cuds and lamination peeling, are not really that hard to find, so i don't count those. I do collect them but for secondary market value, they're really not that good.
I was thinking the same when I made the video. I only added the Mars coin as it is wanted by coloured $2 coin collectors and also to mix it up and not have 3 of the top 5 coins red poppies but yes I do agree with you that the 2018 red poppy is one of the top most wanted. Its the one that I still need to get for the collection. I appreciate you taking the time to comment and give your opinion, thank you!
I have 1999 standard $2 dollar coin its bigger and has two dents like the press hit it when made ..... would it have a high price coz I've looked and looked and never seen anything like it
I do agree with you that the 2020 tooth fairy $2 coin is one of the most wanted $2 coins but I focused this video on coloured $2 coins. I was thinking about putting the Mars $2 coin first but felt that the red poppies seem to be the most wanted and are some what affordable for the collector. I appreciate your comment and your opinion. Thanks for watching!
I'd say the 2012 poppy C mint simply because they only came out in PNC format. I know I won't be letting my 2 PNCs of the 2012 going anytime soon. But there's always fun & games on eBay. Like you said the 2022 poppy C mints are still very much reasonably priced on eBay. But it's a matter of demand and ppls value of the items as they are the custodians of the item after its Sold Out. Like most releases these days, as mostly dealer's get the majority of on sale coins as like previously as I'd the case with the 2012 C mint Poppy which has allocated amounts to local Post Offices all over Australia.
Thanks for your opinion, I appreciate it. I'll be holding onto them as the price seems to keep going up year after year. I agree mate, a lot depends on demand and also supply at the time, once the hype dies down its normally the best time to pick them up if people missed out on the release price. That's very true mate. Thank you for watching and for your comment, sorry for the late reply as I've been busy with work.
I agree as everyone wanted that coin on release and still it seems to be in demand so it will most likely hold up well over the long term. I appreciate your comment and for watching!
That would be nice however I don't see this happening, even in the next 5-10 years. Maybe we will see the 2012 $2 red poppy hit $1,000 in the next 5-10 years but I can't see that happening with the other coloured $2 coins. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and post a comment on the video, thank you!
It is a beautiful coin & yes I do think it does deserve to be the number 1 as most coloured $2 coin collectors would want that coin. I went with the 2022 red poppy only because it was the most wanted coin in 2022 which we haven't seen before for a new coin release. I appreciate your comment and opinion. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video.

@@ozzycoinagehunters1195 another one I do like is the Honey Bee also I have a few of them now
@@leoanicakagnarlyse-bikeadv8444 Yes I agree with the Honey Bee. I think its a must have in any coloured coin collection.

@@ozzycoinagehunters1195 How about the 2018 red poppy?
@@peecee1384 I left it out because I already had the two poppies already but yes this coin is also one of the most wanted.
I have two red poppy coins uncirculated
