I have the eero 6 mesh system and I love it!!! It was so easy to get it up and going. Had a Netgear router and extender but it was not sending a stable reliable signal to the guest house about 30 feet away from the router. But since installing the eero6 have not had one problem and signal strength is the same as in the main house. And with the eero app it made it so easy to get it going. It even tells you where the best place to place the beacon. I would highly recommend this product. You won’t be sorry!!!

I had the same 3 piece set you have and sent it back. What I did was it worked fine but I wasn’t getting speeds I pay for, it did eliminate my dead spots. So what I did I had already ran Ethernet through my house to each bedroom, so I bought a 3 pack of the gateways and then a 4th and have them all hardwired with Ethernet. Now my internet has never been better , no dead spots no drops nothing, perfectly flawless

I wish I could do that but my garage is not attached and that’s where I struggled. Now it works great for me. Always test first in an inconspicuous spot first.

We are 72 and were using the same router I installed 6 years ago (a NightHawk) and started having issues, the app was a POS and finally gave up, did some research, and opted to buy a single eero Pro 6. By itself it was genius. Easy to set up and I had signals all over our home and yard. But last year we installed a PV system and it has a thing called Envy with is Wi-Fi that sends data to the Enphase mothership that then feeds a nifty app. But lately, I have been experiencing data latency and noticed after troubleshooting it was determined when that box was locked in our garage was a "dead spot" Bought an extender, plugged it in an outlet in my garage, and ran the Add new device tool. and BAM the signal meter is MAXED OUT. Amazing.

Make sure to turn off the WiFi on your modem so it doesn’t interfere with the eero, I’m betting that’s what causing the red light/no internet to show up since you put the main eero really close to the WiFi/modem combo

Try moving the one on the bench in the video to your sons room and see if it works better. The two in the garage are unnessary. MESH systems are frequently used in HAM radio to work miles and use similar concepts. Glad to see it is working to improve your needs

I thought they were unnecessary also but it would lose a bar intermittently until I installed the second one. Now it never loses a bar even in the pouring down rain like it was the other day. It was definitely worth the money.

@@FABAutomotiveDetailing The point is you only need one in the garage, but the placement is the key of why it works better next to the laptop and printer. Test out my theory, unplug the one next to the sprayer. Then see if you wifi signal degrades. It will tell you more with the simple test.

So essentially you created a new WiFi network with the Eero's while still retaining your old WiFi network in place with your old Router\Modem correct? Now you have two separate networks, is this correct?

It’s not just the speed that will help a modern household. Wifi6 offers a lot of benefits over previous wifi protocols regarding congestion and prioritising devices.
Regarding your question, I ran Gen 2 nest wifi mesh with a router and 6 mesh satellites around our home. Our house is only 1200sqf but is split over 3 levels and I run a lot of electronics out of a converted wine cellar (farthest from the router).
Our wifi strength was decent, but not great and we would get random dropouts (possibly due to network congestion with 70+ devices connected at any given time)
I’ve since changed to the eero 6 wifi 6 system reviewed here (1 router, 2 satellites) and the coverage and quality of connection is improved over the google nest system.
The nest network got 100mbps down, 16 up, the eero wifi6 network tested at 108 / 19. I fired up 9 screens streaming 4k video and ram the test again and still got 65mbps down, and I get wifi from the road, and down to the creek which wasn’t the case with the best system.
      Overall, I’m very happy.

Hi, have you noticed that devices connected to the Eero extenders are getting very low speed/bandwidth in comparison with the ones connect to the Eero gateway?
I am using the regular Eero 3 pack (no 6 version) and getting 170 mbps of 400 from the Eero extender and 390 of 400 from the gateway.

    • @horkoser
      @horkoser Год назад

Hi. It is completely normal. Have in mind that the real speed at which the extenders are linked to the main one is highly depended on the distance. So, if the node is located far from the main unit the speed is getting lower. On the other hand, have in mind that these devices are dual band (2.4 and 5 Ghz) and not triband (one band at 2.4 and 2 bands at 5 GHz). Thus, the node (extender) use the same frecuency for connecting to the main unit and for connecting to the devices. So, not taking into account the distance (which can reduce the speed quite a lot), the maximum speed for the devices connected to the access points will be the half that the devices obtain when connected to the gateway. In fact, in most cases, the speed will be roughly one-third. The reduction of the speed is worse in case of mesh systems consisting in 3 or more nodes which are not connected directly to the main gateway. This can be solved using ethernet-backhaul, thas it, connecting the nodes to the main unit by cable.
In the case of expensive mesh systems, they use one 2.4 GHz and two 5 GHz frecuencies (they are triband), so one 5 GHz band is dedicated for connecting to the main router and the other one for connecting to the devices. In such cases, the frecuency used for connecting to the gateaway and rest of the devices is not shared and therefore the maximum speed will be higher.
