I dipped my foot in the water and it was cold, you guys are braver than me jumping in! Super lucky to get to the top of Watchmans with no people too. Great video as always.

This is a great video that brings back a lot of memories for me when I lived in Klamath Falls and would go on those hikes. What kind of camera gear was used? The video quality is great and editing really cool!

Went to Crater Lake in July 2018. Took the trail down for the boat ride, saw a few people jumping into the water. That summer also had wildfires in Northern California and it was just as hazy in southern Oregon. Had trouble seeing across the lake at the rim’s elevation as well.

We really wanted to do the boat tour but it was not open unfortunately. We will have to go next time when there is less haze - it is such a beautiful park!

That guy who stumbled upon this lake was my great great uncle. John W. Hillman. There is a peak there called Hillman Peak.

You captured it all beautifully. I was trying to get there this summer while I was visiting nearby Klamath Falls by Amtrak, but didn't get any transportation other than taxy and that was little pricey so I skipped it, but definitely want to visit one day. Thanks for showing what I missed.

Thank you Thomas! It was VERY out of the way for us coming from Texas but we committed to go there and it was worth it. We will go back not during fire season next time!

It's too bad that the views of the entire lake weren't fully visible, but at least you were able to still get some good views. The hike down to the lake itself looked quite awesome. I could tell that the lake looked very cold! I will have to check out Crater Lake one of these days. Awesome video!

We spent so much time on this trip avoiding the forest fires so it was a sad sight but we still loved Crater Lake and we have a great reason to go back again in the future! You have to go!

There never used to be a fire season here in southern Oregon, we called it summer! The democrats would rather it burn then be harvested responsibly! Sorry you had a smokey trip, come back in the winter, the forest service does free snow showing tours near the lodge. And the snow shoes are provided.
