I am super late to the R&R show and D&D on the whole. This show is so spectacular and reminds me that it is never too late to start playing this game (I am 47 and just starting!). I am so excited to go adventuring and this show makes it seem so more accessible than I had originally thought. Thanks to Deborah and her crew!
Deborah Ann Woll is a Rockstar!! Hollywood pay attention to this talent, any movie/TV show she writes and/or directs, I want to see!! Just Outstanding!!
I'm a female DM who has a lot of combat in her campaigns, but damn am I excited to see a more "feminine" gaming style from Deborah Ann Woll. I'm especially glad that she's playing with friends who love her and support her, because she seems to be a bit shy. EDIT: I'm watching the show as it comes out on RUclips and DAW rocks! Her narrating style is amazingly efficient, which is perfect for time-limited shows like this; and the puzzles are awesome. Also, Janina was a great guest player.
Deborah is an amazing DM. Her pacing is second to none, she uses all types of encounters to keep the game interesting (Puzzles, non-combat, Combat, etc, etc) and she puts the fun of her players before anything else. Absolutely incredible DM. You don't get the types of games that this series has produced without a top-quality DM.
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
@Jameson Emory Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
can you do interviews with your regular players too, not just guests. i only really know xander and may have see the others once before. i’d like to know about them and how they became to love dnd
These interviews are charming and I would love to see these folks play. I vastly prefer the critical role method of sponsored ads on stream and merch sales to support. I'll buy a shirt or a notebook, I've even been thinking about dropping a ton of money on a dice tower because of matt mercer and all the wyrmwood giveaways and ads. I think the strength is in building community and a sense of belonging and I think alpha creates barriers to participation rather than inviting people to come in, fall in love, and then spend their money.
I love how you go about DM'ing. I just started watching you guys play but with no DM screen and just the papers in front of you it looks like you follow a rough guide and throw things out there off the cuff, it's great! The anteroom or "tacky" room is a brilliant idea. I am curious to see what the modern sewing machine has for abilities. Lol. Keep up the awesome passion. I wish you all were in western Washington so I could join you.
I already liked both of these ladies due to their roles in TV and Janina playing Iden Versio in Star Wars Battlefront 2. Now I love them both even more! I had no idea they were into D&D! I haven't played in twenty odd years but after buying Art & Arcana for old times sake it's rekindled my interest in the game. A week ago I started playing again and seeing this is super cool.
I've been playing D&D since the early 80s and we didn't have anything like this. I'm so pleased that my hobby is now accessible to famous, beautiful and intelligent women who have even worked out a way to bring it to the public. Yes, I'm not responsible for the hobby becoming great, but I was one who kept D&D alive through the hard times when people thought we were demon worshiping or some such nonsense. Well done to Deborah Ann Woll for this.
Thank you very much for keeping this great game alive, sir. I in contrast, have only played one session of DnD but i already had so much fun. I have so much researching through the races, the classes, the planes, and all the lores related to DnD. May your D20 be as strong as ever, sir.
I was playing as a kid (high school I think? early 90's) and my mom found out and LOST HER MIND thinking it was devil worship. So now I am picking it up again and am so thankful to people like you who have been a part of keeping it alive and well!
@@DrMarcos You're very welcome. Honestly though I must confess that this wasn't a selfless act. I've enjoyed playing RPGs for most of my life and I helped keep it alive mainly so I could keep playing. Enjoy your gaming experiences and have fun.
G&S, with Alpha shutting down, please push R&R episodes to Twitch VOD faster. 4 episodes out on Alpha and I can only find the first 2 on Twitch. It's the star attraction of your content line up. Deborah Ann Woll in particular is incredible, but so are the rest of the regular cast. Twitch is a much harder to navigate platform. Don't let this show get lost in that quagmire.
This. Now that Critical Role is gone, this could be the new posterchild of GnS. An amazing DM, charismatic cast of players and good production value. The ball is in your court now.
Agreed. I hope this show is made more accessible and sticks for a long time. The entire concept is perfect. I can't even find a flaw or a gripe. Deborah is a stellar DM. The recurring cast is epic. The guest stars are fun. The sets are above and beyond. The effects. The props. It's just D&D done in a new and fun way we haven't seen before. Keep this going. It could be the next Critical Role with minimal effort passed what's already been done. Better circulation, advertising and more accessibility. They're golden.
@@LordDragox412 because youtube is not a viable plateform anymore for these type of contents. Nobody watch webseries on youtube anymore and Ads barely pay if you don't reach 1M views.
Yeah that was my thought; with the player being great at escape rooms / puzzles, the stats didn't seem to fit how she played the character either. In the game, a few times she asked if she can make an investigation check (with her +0) instead of asking if she can use perception where she has +8 (expertise), when either could have worked. I could see playing a character that was good at noticing things, e.g. finding puzzles but maybe not so amazing at solving them. That could maybe work as a tomb robber, especially if you don't work solo usually. I thought that was maybe just a rookie player thing, not knowing what would be perception vs. investigation. But apparently she has played before with some of these people. Maybe it's fairly infrequent, not a huge number of games over the few years. And maybe not all 5e. Overall of course, solid and interesting character, and she had some good ideas for solving problems. This one stat mismatch(?) or whatever we want to call it didn't hurt my enjoyment of the episode much if at all, just made me curious about the choices.
You know, this is just my opinion, but these are the two most attractive women in Hollywood today... without exception. Absolutely gorgeous... and the fact that they play D&D and/or video games? It's like, is this real life? lol

Every time Deb does these video's she swoons me more and more , i can't help it!
Roland YUP, she’s amazing.
Deborah is such a great story-teller. I really hope this gets another season. It's criminally underrated.
Best part of the game right there at 8:10, it's about imagination, combat is so secondary.
This is so freaking wholesome, it just fills me up. I absolutely adore these two.
I love these reflections interviews. So cool to hear their thoughts and inputs and histories with these games. It's serioulsy wonderful.

Unfortunately, gns has been sold to Legendary so the gns crew just have to do this method or they leave. They do have a good budget though.
Alpha is shutting down actually. They will be streaming on Twitch in the future.

watching in 2021, and i gotta wonder if they still play
I still find it hilarious that in addition to her gaming hobbies, Janina Gavankar is also a hardcore marching band/drum corps nerd.
Mumee in a mummy story, I love that. I straight up thought you might have been setting her up to be a secret mummy. haha
I think she even played a mummy of some kind on the Gates but it ended before all of her character's secrets were revealed.

Why are the "reflections" happening BEFORE the experience?
Where can I watch their campaign? Please tell me its not in alpha. If it is will it be available on youtube?
It's available on youtube now. ruclips.net/video/JcaxZbUjfaY/видео.html is a playlist starting with the first episode.
I imagine Mumee as a posh aristocratic tomb dweller who wears designer bandages
True Blood reunion!
Where can I watch this full campaign?
lame that we cant watch the actual episodes on youtube
You can now :)
McKenna Hall playing D&D... I'm in.
D&D friends are the best friends.
I indirectly came here from Giant Bomb after stumbling upon a video Janina was in with them.
why don't they upload to RUclips
It's because of the same reason why Wil Wheaton left G&S - project Alpha :P
they will when the season is over, like with callisto 6, shield of tomorrow, and la by night.
