Love the videos...graduated from collision school not too long ago and I love painting...planning to take a basf class to fullfill my pro level 3 requirements soon

Nathan Smith I took that class, it’s not a big deal you’ll learn something. If you have a Sata gun, that will help. They only use Sata for that class, sometime they give you a Sata for free.

Way nicer job than I could do with a few cans of spray paint in my basement. :-)

Hey Jimbo, When you spray a coat of pearl do you do a drop coat? It appeared that you didn't. Thanks /John

Jimmy, good vid, just about to start using the uv primers what primer/brand would you recommend

Might depend on what equipment you have to dry it. I've only really used the new Glasurit UV primer in recent years. it works very well, lays out smooth and sands well.

Just wondering, but should block sanding ALWAYS be used after da?

I have the same tekna guns you do, love them! I shoot my clear around 26 psi, I shot 3 or 4 jobs with it so far. What psi you shoot at in clear gun?

How do you know what psi to spray base and pearls at when you buy new guns? Manufacturers always say 29 psi for hvlp guns. And do you not need clear blender to blend pearls? Thanks

Every gun comes with different recommendations from the manufacturer. The Tekna basecoat gun is around 16PSI I believe, many guns are in-between that and 29 PSI. Sometimes I spray with Nitrogen and it's even less. You can put a clear blender down if you want, I don't usually fell the need to with whites.
