● In today's video I'll take you onboard a Lancia Delta HF Integrale with sequential gearbox for a few laps around Varano de Melegari circuit. This old-school Lancia is powered by a 2.0 liter twin cam 16 valve turbo engine which has been tuned to produce more than 500 horsepower!

Lets be Honest Lancia has made some really amazing cars through the history of the brand...everybody loves Deltas, Stratos, 037, Aurelia, etc., such a legend...it's hard to understand, how this sport-luxury car manufacturer dissapeared like a ghost from the car market...it makes me really sad, because I own Lancia Thesis Emblema in mint condition...well no matter what some critics may say, this is my second Thesis...car is amazing, extra comfy, refined, overengineered, beautiful, loaded with features, sophisticated engines, complex...just what Lancia is. And 20 years ahead of time of course. People can see this now...they buy new skoda for 35k, but Thesis is just one class still above...solar sunroof, keyless go, epb as standard...this car deserved to be 20% more expensive than the e class and not 20% cheaper...

Lancia was once considered the Mercedes of Italy, with superior engineering and build quality. But alas, the company was forced to go downmarket, resulting in less exciting models and quality decline. To the motorheads who populate this channel, Lancia will be remembered for the classics it produced. The name still carries a ton of caché. That must be some consolation.
@@johntechwriter You're right...I admire Lancia, because of its unique design, engineering, and phylosophy: "not following trends, but making them". There is no brand in the world that is so authentic as Lancia...I drove a new MB E class DE, diesel Hyb., and I missed the refinement, luxury and sophistication from Thesis...yes it's faster, yes it has more features, but the feeling you are driving something special, just isn't there...the artistic soul of Lancia is something that is unique. Not to mention the A class upholstery: Poltrona Frau leather, Italian Alcantara s.p.a. Milano, Ermenegildo Zegna Wool...only Lancia, Maserati and Ferrari use these products and noone else.

What a brilliant upgrade. The proof is its track performance. It goes through the gears like an F1 car and corners brilliantly, with no apparent understeer. This car would kick ass in any sedan racing series I can think of. But with its Group B modifications, it would be too over-specced to be allowed to compete.

Makes me wonder how fast the Delta S4 was! This thing is a beast but the S4 must have been insane, especially since it was used in Rally.
S4 only had the look in common whit this one. a central engine fiberglass monster on a tubular frame. only look to promote the production Delta, but this one was for the masses :D
S4 was fast, but extremely hard to control... To be honest I don't think it will be fast around the track in modern days.

How did you reduce the turbo lag so much? Does it have a smaller turbo to keep the larger turbo boosted?
no, 1 turbo only, many small tricks in the choice of components that completes the engine
Modern turbos have advanced greatly since the 90s. Modern ECUs, Engine & transmission tuning as well as engine building techniques all contribute to reducing lag.
This car deserves a flatshift! Since it is sequential, it's easier to implement. Think about that!

i cerchi da 17 con canale da 9 nel 16v vanno un pò stretti, nella evo le gomme escono in fuori e ti puoi abbassare 1 o 2 cm in più, e poi il 99% delle uscite la uso in montagna e non volevo stravolgere tutto per 1 uscita
