Hey mate, just repaired my old BMX which has given me the vibes to switch to a MTB for commuting, do you think a cheap bike would survive these trails? Not looking to try it on the BMX but it looks like great fun and have never done it before 😅
Honestly it depends how hard you go and how well maintained your “cheap bike” is! If you didn’t go hard and just enjoyed your ride then yes! Leeds urban would be an awesome place to explore but as you progress and ride harder you might find things starting to break but it is 100% on how you ride it! 🙌 bmx is awesome in general because there’s less to go wrong! Bomb proof bikes! I love mine but sometimes they can’t match that blasting though the woods feeling of MTB!! 🙌
@@CouplegoalsMTB honestly it'll be super cheap, since I haven't fully committed to commuting via bike yet, it'll probably be the cheapest hardtail MTB that halfords/Evans or somewhere similar do as I'm sure they can handle riding to work and back just fine, but I'd love to be able to do trails, try jumps and drops etc in spare time on the same bike 😅 not sure if that'll really change much but thanks for the fast reply 🫡
Then just keep it calm the first few runs! And have some mechanical sympathy? Some people just rag bikes and never check bolts over or check tire pressures ect then wonder why there bikes break! If you treat it well it should be able to give you a good feel for if you do or don’t like MTB!🙌 (you will… it’s amazing!)
@@CouplegoalsMTB hahaha great advice tbh, thanks a lot! Will just have to give it a go once I get one but I'll take it easy the first couple times round and see how it all goes, I suppose if nothing else I can always take the BMX up there and give that a go, even if it's not ideal at least if anything goes wrong, it's not what I'd be using to primarily travel with anyway 😅
@@xCløudUK yer! That’s a good way to look at it! And no worries! Feel free to ask us anything anytime! The whole point of riding bikes is to have a good time so we try to always be friendly and encouraging for other riders! 🙌 and yer there are parts of leeds like the pump track, bmx track ect that are better on a bmx! So there’s always something to ride there! And I have seen with my own eyes the Irish bmx team guys clear the whole main line all the way along on bmxs! 🙌 super cool to watch!
