Alex Chicca Messi embarrassed Cannavaro and Roberto Carlos several times with Real Madrid. He wasn't playing in first division yet when Nesta and Maldini were at their peak. I can't think of many strikers or wingers from 1996 to 2005 would of given them problems besides Robinho, Ronaldinho bc they played at different leagues.

This is, without a doubt the highest tempo and most intense and competitive friendly XI game I've ever seen. Some of those tackles coming in were ankle breakers...
Notice how the "world stars" had majority of players that actually played in Italy (Ronaldo, Weah, Winter, Ze Maria Batistuta, Zidane, Rui Costa, Dunga, Nakata, Salas, Bierhoff etc). Serie A was really competitive years ago. Italy was the place every best player wished to play.
