- Here's another episode of the wacky game of celebrity gossip! Vicki, Jeremy, & Anita compete for the right to win thousands of dollars. Which contestant will take the stroll down Rodeo Drive?
(This was originally posted on JackBauer152's now-defunct RUclips channel, and was reposted here with full permission.)
It's cute how all the "pedestrians" run over to congratulate a successful stroller.
I've only heard about this game show, & never seen it until now. I'm watching "Rodeo Drive" for the first time. I believe Louise Duart played Nashville on the ABC Saturday morning program "The Krofft Supershow" in the late 1970s. How long did "Rodeo Drive" last, anyway?
Not very long.
0:07, “You’re watching Lifetime Television.”-Lori Alan.
Instead of calling the show "Rodeo Drive," they could've called it "You Talking About Hollywood?"
Never thought I’d hear Mr. T and Boy George in the same sentence!
Boy George appeared on "The A-Team".
@@drummingdanny84 I am aware of that as well as it being one of the lowest points of his life.
Rodeo Drive was probably the only game show that had the "The views and opinions expressed by the participants on this program are their own and are not necessarily those of the producers..." disclaimer at the end.
@HodmoxTheCritic Yes, that's quite a run at that! Also, if I'm not mistaken, the 13-week "test" slot game shows were given to prove their watchability only applied to over-the-air network-based television (CBS, NBC & ABC) stations. Thank you for anwering my question, HodmoxTheCritic!
Bente Christensen who designed the set for Rodeo Drive also designed the set for Password Plus and $ale of the Century with Jim Perry both for NBC Daytime
And The Price is Right as well!
The show was taped at CBS
@ChihuahuaboyDH 150 episodes over just under 7 months, not too bad a run considering some gameshows last for 13 weeks.
I missed this show a lot
@tpir1972 Well, it was filmed at Television City.
@tpir1972
Wolpert also did Wait 'Til You Have Kids, It Takes Two, etc. before Shopping Spree.
This game show truly deserves to be remade, maybe with a famous Entertainment Show host as the host: Dayna Devon, Nancy O'Dell, Mario Lopez, Maria Menounos, etc.
Mary Hart, perhaps?
Maybe Eric Stonestreet?
Pre-9/11 stuff.😎
I want Louise DuArt's scream of YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! during the bonus round as a ring tone for text messages.
With the mini-commercial it looks more like a syndicated game show
Yes it's true and during that time, CBS Television City had Family Feud with the late Ray Combs, Wheel of Fortune with Pat Sajak, Bob Goen and Vanna White, The Price is Right w/Bob Barker and Models Janice Pennington, Dian Parkinson and Holly Halstrom and of course, CBS Daytime Soap The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful
Jay Wolpert produced Whew! and Blackout for CBS Daytime and Shopping Spree and Wait 'til you Have Kids were taped @ CBS Studio Center home to Gunsmoke
T-Bone Hubbard ''Blackout'' was also taped at CBS TV City, as well.
And Dancing With the Stars.
The Bonus round reminds me of Whew.
"ding" from The Price is Right, "buzzer" from Family Feud, "clang" from Whew!
The buzzer was heard when there was a zero during the Combs era.
Nce show, shoul've lasted longer.
And instead, they used a 1-point (?!) Toss-Up Fact/Rumor question to break ties (even those for 2nd) after each round. Kinda shows how lax the production staff was in the execution.
I like the idea you had about 2 sets of rounds; most likely the 2nd half would be played for double points. That way, they'd save the tiebreaker for when it's really needed: at game's end!
@gshowguy
Well, tpir1972 is still wrong.
Is this the last Jay Wolpert show until Shopping Spree?
He did all Family channel shows like Family Challenge.
Videotaped at NBC Studios Burbank, California
From Television City in Hollywood
@@aaronbruceladner1983 Though the NBC Cannad audience was there certinly.
How do the people talking on rodeo drive get the questions, do they make them up?
Notice this show wasn't part of CBS and they used the CBS bells and the Family Feud buzzer.
