My grandfather passed away from cancer today. He was a headstrong man that always provided for his family. He'd give the shirt off his back and his last penny to his family. Grand-dad, you took the blows, and you did it your way. RIP Chen Duan Shi 09/07/1942 - 10/19/2023.
To be honest, this song really touched me. I love how it encourages you to do things *YOUR WAY*, not listening to what others have to say, not listening to people who put you down, not listening to people who force you to go down a certain path they want you to. Do things the way you want, no matter what they do to try and stop you, nothing should stop your courage and determination for a goal you've set in life. Nothing should stop you from doing the things you love. Nothing should stop you from chasing your dreams. If you are reading this, stay strong and do it your way.
My father passed April 28th 2023. Two years battling cancer, the last two weeks were his hardest. He did it his way! Cheers to those who have had an impact in our lives!
I can only hope after being diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer that has now spread to the lungs and the stomach - that I can proclaim to everyone who knew me that i did live life my way. No regrets, never surrender.
I just lost my father four days ago, and, not only was this his favorite song, but this was also him in a nutshell. He passed away at the age of 83. He fought through all kinds of illnesses; multiple brain aneurysms, kidney failure (in both) leading to dialysis 3x/week - from blood poisoning due to an IV needle not having been changed at a hospital visit, along with close to complete blindness and deafness. He worked really hard, having come from poverty, to succeeding all on his own - without anyone’s help (or as Frank Sinatra sings ‘without exemption’), even at the age of 83 not having wanted to stop with everything stock market related. He was a very stubborn man, but people loved him. He had charisma, he just had….that kind of personality that drew you to him, along with having left a great impact on many. He definitely lived his life ‘his way’, and will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Rest in peace, Dad ♥️

This song hits hard for me. I’ve been through many hardships in life, and rn it’s led to the moment where I’m 2 weeks away from graduating high school. Sometimes time goes fast, but I’ve taken my own path in life, and plan to do so in the future. To those who are reading this, I wish you the best of luck in life ❤❤❤ Edit: I have officially graduated! Edit 2: wow, can’t believe it’s been a year since I graduated.. I would like to thank everyone for their kind and beautiful comments. Thank you for your support!! I’ll keep going! ❤❤

Backstory be told ngl. When i was a kid, some folks in the church noticed my talent on music. When i asked my parents and other family members that i wanted to learn music and its instruments, they ignored my request. So i self-taught every musical instrument near to me with everyone looking down on me. But here i am playing the bass with this song...doing it MY WAY! I want them to play this on my funeral and i won't regret it.
this was my grandfather's favorite song, he died in 2019 and in his late 70's from his fourth and final battle with brain cancer. this is now my favorite song and because i have the most genes from that side, the cycle will continue. rest in peace grandpa, you did it your way.

I'll never forget the time I took my grandmother to see Frank Sinatra in concert in LI, NY. Her lifetime dream was to see "Ole Blue Eyes". She lived to be 2 wks.short of 100 yrs. old!
I was reading Catcher in the Rye during Christmas of 2023 and finished it a few days before New Years. The only book that I felt was impacted by so deeply to break my heart, and when finishing, it gave me the closure I needed in my own life that I didn't realize I needed. It stuck with me for so long. One day, while I was thinking about it still, this song came on, and ironically, even though Holden Caulfield detested such music because it would've been too Hollywood for his taste, it still encapsulated him as a stubborn young man. If you're like me, who hadn't read it at all, even though it is infamous and universally appraised and popular. I highly recommend it like the millions that did read it. It is beloved for a reason. It's my favorite novel of all time.
This song makes me think of my dad.. He passed away on the 05/04/2023...And he certainly lived his life to the fullest and did it his way... May he RIP😢
Simply ''all time song'' , impact all generations... past and future. Every single person could find themself in these pure, true lyrics... Memories overwhelm me and break me like a blade of grass in the wind... So we all did it our way...
Frank sinatra is one of a kind nobody else can do what he does without exception he is one for the history books as one of the greatest of all time Without a doubt in my mind
This song reminds me of my grandfather, who passed away on the 10th of August 2023. While he was alive, he always said that this was entirely his song. Now that he is gone, we remember him because indeed, he lived his life his way
Whilst I do not identify myself with the song for the most part, even though I wish I did more, I cannot help but love it. It gives me a deep melancholy and my heart does not remain unmoved whenever I listen to it. I rather like to think that it depicts the beautiful idea and noble thought of free will and using that free will to live your life fully, experimenting the richness of life, but using it to do good things and not be an immature rebel. I think it's important for each of us to discover and recognize the fact that the world needs us, our voice, our ideas - and not become versions of ourselves that are actually the multitude of choices that others did in our name. Because it is considerate to take into account the observations that others make about us, but it's also extremely important that our own voice from deep inside our core to remain the predominant voice. We maybe each have a duty to develop our abilities and qualities. Sometimes maybe, the rest of the world doesn't even know how much it actually needs the individual unique abilities we might possess until we actually bring them to light. And so, until they are brought into light, the rest of the world may be highly skeptical about them or even against them, trying to stop us from ever developing them and trying to impose their own opinions about what they think would suit us better instead. It may sometimes be better to regret having done something than to regret not having done it. It all depends on what that thing is and our judgement regarding it. But our life is to be lived by us and no one else.
"I find it all so amusing...." cheers to all those who are still standing proud and tall despite people trying to let them down! God bless everyone! ❤🧡💚💜💙
To all the men out there struggling - some of us women DO recognise and appreciate you. Society has become so cruel and vicious - especially to men, and we don’t talk enough about it. Speaking of your feelings does not make you any less a man, nor does it emasculate you. Let it be known that a man who speaks from his heart is the most attractive, brave and courageous man. So whoever is struggling out there, you’re loved and appreciated - keep strong and keep going ❤
yes, it's okay to cry even if you're a man. Release the pain in your heart through tears and not through alcohol and other bad vice. It's okay to cry even if you're a man so you will live longer and provide for your families and loved ones cuz they need you.
Thank you 🙏 my Dear Sister Barbie-Baby…💚🤗💙!!! I TOTALLY DO NOT disagree w/ you!!! Growing up, that’s what me and my younger brothers and I were taught: “As men, you don’t have time or energy to express your true feelings! Suck it all up, get over whatever’s bothering you, pull yourselves together, and move forward!!” To THAT, I say: Easier SAID…than DONE. If people knew the trials one must face, they wouldn’t be so quick to have the audacity to dole out said…”motivations”…💔💔💔. I’ve been MANY things in my life: -The oldest of 4 boys and 2 girls; -A husband (twice!!!); -A single dad AND mentor to 3 adopted kids (2000-2022); -An uncle to many nephews and nieces; -A godfather to many a friends’ and acquaintances kids; -A officer and a gentleman (USMC: 1986-2001); -A boss; -A grandfather-of-sorts to one my sons’ fiancé’s son; -An on-again/off-again teacher at my daughter’s private school (she recently became official Headmistress, so I took over her teaching position), where I’m also the “student”…😊. I believe, as a man, there is no slur on one’s manhood or patriarchal status when one needs to “let it out” every now and then. But in doing so, I also believe that we SHOULD do it all…”OUR way”… ❤️🩶🤍🖤
Frank Sinatra, the legendary American singer and actor, passed away on May 14, 1998, at the age of 82. He died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from a heart attack. My grand dad & my dad loved this song so much and me too. They all passed away already. Now I'm 62 years old. This song really mean something special to me with my battling condition.

I was out of songs n people that I could connect with, and in then here I am in 2023, getting awestruck by the lyric. My songs find me. My way, Frank Sinatra, you beauty :)
He won the academy award as best supporting actor for the movie FROM HERE TO ETERNITY, a movie in which he did not sing, strangely enough, but I loved him in PAL JOEY, in which he did.

Simply ''all time song'' , impact all generations... past and future. Every single person could find themself in these pure, true lyrics... Memories overwhelm me and break me like a blade of grass in the wind... So we all did it our way...

Without a doubt in my mind
What a song about a proper man’s life. Im 28 and this song hits the soul
This is one of my grandpas favourite songs. I miss him very much
I miss my grandfather too! Great song!
This song reminds me of my grandfather, who passed away on the 10th of August 2023. While he was alive, he always said that this was entirely his song. Now that he is gone, we remember him because indeed, he lived his life his way
Его песни на века , я дышать не могу когда слушаю гения
I love it … Thank you Frank!
One of the finest singers EVER
This song is a true masterpiece

To all the men out there struggling - some of us women DO recognise and appreciate you. Society has become so cruel and vicious - especially to men, and we don’t talk enough about it. Speaking of your feelings does not make you any less a man, nor does it emasculate you. Let it be known that a man who speaks from his heart is the most attractive, brave and courageous man. So whoever is struggling out there, you’re loved and appreciated - keep strong and keep going ❤
Absolutely w ♥️women
Thankyou ma'am ❤
yes, it's okay to cry even if you're a man.
Growing up, that’s what me and my younger brothers and I were taught:
“As men, you don’t have time or energy to express your true feelings! Suck it all up, get over whatever’s bothering you, pull yourselves together, and move forward!!”
To THAT, I say:
Easier SAID…than DONE.
If people knew the trials one must face, they wouldn’t be so quick to have the audacity to dole out said…”motivations”…💔💔💔.
I’ve been MANY things in my life:
-The oldest of 4 boys and 2 girls;
-A husband (twice!!!);
-A single dad AND mentor to 3 adopted kids (2000-2022);
-An uncle to many nephews and nieces;
-A godfather to many a friends’ and acquaintances kids;
-A officer and a gentleman (USMC: 1986-2001);
-A boss;
-A grandfather-of-sorts to one my sons’ fiancé’s son;
-An on-again/off-again teacher at my daughter’s private school (she recently became official Headmistress, so I took over her teaching position), where I’m also the “student”…😊.
I believe, as a man, there is no slur on one’s manhood or patriarchal status when one needs to “let it out” every now and then. But in doing so, I also believe that we SHOULD do it all…”OUR way”…
❤️🩶🤍🖤
Браво Фрэнк🎼👏Ты на всегда в сердцах наших ❤️
Frank Sinatra, the legendary American singer and actor, passed away on May 14, 1998, at the age of 82. He died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from a heart attack.

I love this song because it tells you to live a good, and full life. And it also tells you that no-one can tell you what to do once you are full grown and you have dreams.
I love this so much.

It was through God, through his grace, and not our way, that we triumphed... without God, we can do nothing.
