People in academia are normally cautious when making political statements. You can't be a political pundit with almost zero self-control while also representing academia in the field of clinical psychology.
Just admit that NONE of you actually know what this is actually about. Comparing Peterson with any reputable, active clinical psychologist should clearly show the qualitative difference with regards to their work in the field.
The only reason people are uttering support is because of the political leanings, which is exactly the reason why he is in trouble in the first place. You lot are legit getting louder and less smart by the year.

I was taken out by a municipal body over 10 years ago. The experience left me traumatised, stigmatised and all my goals for the future of my specific endeavour thrown away. I did nothing wrong. Hey Jordan, treat this like research just to experience the re-education process. It is more knowledge if you want to look at it that way and then you can put this whole episode behind you. I’m curious as to what they hope, (other than to prove their point), to accomplish. Are you going to change… of course not, we all know that. Anyway, save your career, get er done, and carry on.

What doesn't make sense is that a handful of snowflakes that weren't his clients were from other countries and were upset about what he said on the internet on the Joe Rogan Experience complained and Dr. Peterson has to get re-educated. Makes perfect sense as long as you don't think about it.
The Canadian Supreme Court has said they find Dr Petersons statements on culture war issues to be a “risk to the public”. That his message of personal freedom, responsibility, and maturity could be viewed as a threat to anyone is laughably absurd.

Social media training, training on a a new way of communication that has become a thorn in the side of society. Think for just a split second of the harm social media has done. Created a generation who embrace and endorse content based in populararity, instead of substance. Created a system of false gratification and pointless anger Made segregation and racism worse, not better. Created wealth and empty success for a new breed of comercial leeches. (Social influencers in case it was not obvious).
And now you are going to train someone on how to properly use a system that is basically anarchy? What a joke, and this coming from folks who are supposed to be at the core of Canadian mental health, Phds spreading misinformation and luanacy.

Could anyone out there clarify for me the position Dr Peterson is with regards to his standing as a Clinical Psychologist? Is this about his ability to practice in Canada as a psychologist or is it about his right to the professional title? Would he be able to retain the title of Clinical Psychologist in the the UK for example? I would have thought that if this was about his ability to practice as a psychologist in Canada that this would not be a big setback as he probably does not have a private practice.
You need to be licensed by the provincial board to practice in Ontario. He'd no doubt need a similar license to practice in the UK. It's not a big setback he's just doing it for the publicity and pretending it's very draconian when it isn't.

The end game is not to take you license. Of what purpose would that serve? It would not make the college more credible, would not protect clients since you are not practicing. You just will not admit you go overboard with harsh language and sometimes unfounded comments which reflects badly on your fellow psychologists. Comments about these and your shared responsibility to promote the profession are noticably absent from your discourse.😊

One, they contribute to public policy; which means, their policies will be in line with what the government of Canada will endorse. as an organizational psychologist, I will tell you evidence based proclamations of such an organization is very limited, at best. The science, many of these people consider worthy does not stand the scrutiny of those who specialize in research, like myself.
In short, the CPAwill keep its lines within with government policy; especially if it wants future endorsement, and be considered a “Canadian Corporation” - not too unlike the CBC.

Had he put a disclaimer on each one of his podcasts ... stating that he was expressing his personal views on all subjects ... rather than what he had learned in his training as a psychologist ... he would not have had any problems at all with the Ontario board of psychologists.

Professional bodies have the right to withhold credentials from people who harm the reputation of the profession. Peterson is completely free to say and do whatever he likes within the bounds of the law. However, based on his beliefs and actions, he is no longer licensed to provide psychological care to patients.

I mean at this point we have to say that "Toxic Masculinity" is a pathological simplification of male behavior in the same way as "Female Hysteria" Yet not only are people who promote this idea not losing their licenses for this repugnantly sexist belief, the government promotes it. Why aren't those people being subject to re-education and losing their licenses? Why are they not suffering the consequences of their actions?
