    I don’t think people understand how long a process this is… This is basically a lifelong process. You don’t ever get to stop. Avoiding injuries is probably the most important aspect of lifting. Constantly improve little by little. There are no secret moves etc.

      I just realized this, it’s definitely a life long process. I’m just starting phase 1 and I’m 30 % body fat and I finally got it through my head it’s a long process just enjoy it.

      @@nazinas21 you will likely go through tendon issues or the like if you keep trying to lift heavier all the time. You do not want them. They will cause constant pain and slow progress. Lifting Numbers (pounds)aren’t that important. Slow and easy… but intense. Try to get more reps and sets in.
      Biggest thing would be to get your diet in order. You don’t need to bulk at higher body weights. You lose 10% body fat (get down to at least 20%) and you will look a lot better especially in clothes.
      It’s almost all diet for weight so you need to decide what you want more once you get below 20%.. look real good at 12% or have more cheat meals. Food is empty and others will sabotage your weight loss journey. Enjoy the food but in smaller portions. Make each bite count… savor it. Anyhow I know you weren’t asking for any of this but hope it can possibly be helpful. Get it done guy. Make a lifting log and track your workouts. Do the same with your food if you start stalling out.

    Record your weights/sets/reps and take notes so you know to add or remove weight for your next workout. Second time through you will be able to hit the ground running on every exercise for every phase.

    I find that say I bench 155 for 12 reps ,I'll move 10lbs up and then go for 10 reps. And so forth. I do this for every compound lift (bench , squat , ohp , dead , pullup)

    I'm working out from home and I have dumbells. I'm using 2 20kg dumbell for hack squats for example and 10kg for arms workout. I'm currently doing maps aesthtic. I'm just hoping this is enough. I'm 5.6ft and a size xs/small.

    The only thing I hate about this podcast is that 90% of every answer in every video for every question is that ‘It depends’. Everything is relative all the time. For someone like me that is searching for Science it urks me that the first 3 mins of the answers are ‘Everybody is Different’ ‘Your mood even affects your performance’ ‘Stay Consistent, But switch it up from time to time’.

    • @ericapatton444
      @ericapatton444 2 года назад +1

      Why do you hate this? Lol. That is one of the best answers out there, it is an incredible thing that we are so diverse - imagine how boring this world would be if we were all the same.
      For them to say, "start with squatting 150 and go from there", for a girl who is 90 lbs soaking wet, this is terrible advice which could lead to serious injury because it DOES depend. I love the fact that they are instilling the idea of "listening to your body", be in tune with yourself, and do what feels good.
      If you feel like you need specific advice to questions about your body, I suggest you invest in a one on one personal trainer who can look at your body composition and give you the answers you are looking for - it's unfair to judge the answers of these professionals who cannot physically see all of the clients they sell these MAPS programs to

      @@ericapatton444 Perhaps I am being misunderstood. I would ask the 90lbs girl to test her 1-rep max to display her ACTUAL capacity and assign her a percentage of that weight. I believe in the Borg RPE Scale to measure output. These men use the term ‘Depends’ based on feeling and no true accounting of a measurement. These men might as well say “Choose a weight and go from there.” I am saying find your 1RM and use Borg’s chart to complete the percentage given for 10 reps at an RPE of 3, and then the percentage given for 8 reps at an RPE of 5 for set 2. To become Science things must be measured so that others can apply it.
      It is because of this my body looks muscularly athletic and aesthetic without the need for junk volume and 1,000 exercises with hours in the gym . I am a product of Mike Mentzer and Dorian Yates’s teachings. I am in search of Science to teach others, not results.
