To be honest IYRTITL kinda screwed him over. It was a complete change of style, he played it off as a mixtape, and people really embraced it. He took an extra year to release this and hyped it up too much. It wasn't bad but I know he's capable of better and that's what's disappointing.

2001bham IYRTITL had some tracks that would've sounded good on views like you & the 6, jungle and Madonna...views isn't cohesive at all, drakes best work is thank me later, it's his most cohesive album as far as sound and subject matter...thank me later actually tells a story unlike all his other albums

Pretty much my favorite Drake album. May not be objectively his best work but this came out the summer before my senior year of high school and this shit was the soundtrack to life that year haha. These were my favorite tracks to bump in the car with the friends. 9 is such a good one idk how people don’t like it.
I agree man, i was able to connect this album with a hard time in my life and it got me through them. The album really has its very specific vibe i can’t really find anywhere else. Im not that big of a drake fan, but the vibe of this album really hit me for some reason. Im with you.
I’ve had albums like that. Where people don’t like them and they aren’t necessarily the best albums of all time but they just connect to you in a certain way and define a period in your life.

This album was bad for many reasons
1. He sings at least 60% of the album, therefore he can't be the best rapper in the game because he barely raps. This is not a album for the hip hop scene, MAYBE R&B
2. His singing is monotone and never really changed pitch or flow, he sounds the same every song its boring.
3. Again there are multiple songs where he's singing about girls and heartbreak, it might of got him where he is today but we've seen this already so many times.
4. His features we're shaky and all over the place.
Truth is Views was such a success sales wise because Drake is very commercial and promoted the whole 'Views from the 6' vibe very well. The people hopped on because it was interesting at the time to see a strong connection with Drake and his hometown Toronto, his promotion was flawless. Views being anticipated as a full length album people got hype for it, Drake being the hottest artist in the game. Sales don't always reflect talent.

Commercially it's arguably the most trash project ever.It's gonna sale, because of highschool girls but overall it's the biggest disappointment in hip hip history since Yeezus.We sought it out to be a game changer, and thought it'd be his best work.People were also gassing him up after that Meek beef.When overall, Meek was kinda right.Because since QM left him, Drake has been shit lyrically.The worst part is that he knows he's putting out a trash product.He deadass tried to tell us More Life was a "playlist" so when judging his albums we'd forget about More Life which was better than Views but mediocre at best.Not completely trash, but still mediocre.

Lotta people are dissing the rating when he gave Lil Boat a 7/10, but the rating is reflecting the potential of the artist. We know Drake has created great tracks and many hits, and the album is underwhelming compared the the standards he has set for himself. I enjoy some tracks on the album, but there are some that make me want to skip immediately. Plus Lil Yachty dropped a hot tape so you cant fault fantano for seeing the genius that is Cold in Minnesota.

H3H3 is the real Beanie man....
Its supposed to be conceptual. The first half is supposed to represent winter like the fall, more representing the more mellow/chill older style Drake w/ smoother production. While on the second half represents summer (reason why he was pushing the whole summer 16' thing), with more upbeat and dancehall style production. Whether or not it makes a significant impact on if people like it or not I still think its a kinda cool idea.

And in that same song, Drake delivered a verse that didn't nearly have as much depth and meaning as Kendrick's, and even spit mediocre and cringe-worthy bars like "when I see that thing move, I just wish that we would fight less and we would talk more".

I understand why someone not from Toronto can think this of Views, but Anthony, you couldn't be more wrong. You discuss dancehall music like you're an expert on it and I understand this is your opinion, but you speak in an extremely factual manner. The fact that you discredit his use of the word "tings" shows your lack of knowledge on Caribbean and Toronto culture, tings is not a word that shows any correlation to one's street cred or "realness", it's a word anyone uses to refer to women. It is cold most of the year here so I guess you could refer to it as monotonous, but you can see the seasons if you look at it as starting from Winter. Again, I understand this is your OPINION, but you deliver it in a very anti-Drake, uneducated perspective. Please do some background research before you speak on matters you aren't educated on. I'm a long time fan of yours, but you've become overly critical, you have many valid points here, but the unnecessary criticism and grievances you seem to have with Drake stain this review.
