- Hey guys! Today we're playing the brand new Malakai Makaisson campaign, featuring his pals Gotrek & Felix. We'll be launching the Spirit of Grungi, his beloved Thunderbarge, and undertaking many a quest (and settling many a grudge!).
There's plenty of new units and plenty of new features as part of the Dwarf rework coming alongside the Thrones of Decay DLC(s)

The thunder barge flies over things when you attack them because it has bombs as one of its basic attacks.
i love how killing the skaven essentially gives you the skaven's menace below mechanic but with miners

The way the Spirit of Grungni works is that the grudgerakers and cannons shoot anything within their range automatically without you needing to issue them orders to do so, while the Spirit of Grungni itself drops bombs automatically on whatever is below it. So when you tell it to attack something, it flies over the target to drop its bombs, while the guns go to town on whatever they can see. So yes, it overflying whatever you click on is working as intended
The airship attack thing is exactly what it's supposed to be doing. I think it's got a trait somewhere explaining it. Basically, you cannot give it attack orders in the traditional sense, it just moves where you point it and unleashes hellfire.
If you let The Spirit of Grungni sit, it will fire at anything at range. Giving an attack command allows it to hover and drop bombs *as well* as the normal bombardment of Dwarfen munitions.
I'm so looking forward to this series. The Gotrek and Felix books were my intro into Warhammer fantasy and Malakai is one of my favorite characters from those books.
they changed norsca from being a Chaos Waste climate to Frozen and Mountain Climate. thats really nice and makes kislev campains alot easier

Malakai was one of my favorite characters in the novels. Such a colorful character, especially for a slayer.
The comedic timing of killing your own gyrocopters was pure gold

The Thunderbarge flies above them because it WILL drop bombs similar to other airships for Dwarves, but it's automatic. They routinely drop bombs on their target. This causes the AI to always path to above the current target. The 360 fire of it's occupants just makes it still super good.

Whenever I play TW:Warhammer I often rename captured settlements to names more appropriate for the faction I'm playing; and I find this little habit is at it's most satisfying when restoring the proper Khazalid names of reclaimed Dwarf strongholds!

The same exact thing happened in LoremasterofSotek's stream today in the opening battle. Cannons hitting gyrocopters. Makaisson doing his thing lol
So, by my understanding of the Thunderbarge's attack, it's range and such is based on the bombs it drops, not on the front cannons or grudgerakers. So, telling it to attack is to tell it to hover above the targeted unit and drop bombs from on high.
Indeed, the Yorkshire accents instead of Scottish on the large majority of Dwarfs in warhammer is a decision that I wholeheartedly defend and embrace, ever since I first played warhammer 1. many may write it off as unimportant, others saying "what's the difference" (shame on you btw if you think that) but to me they are one of the more endearing differences between generic fantasy dwarves. that and northern accents are far nicer on the ear truth be told.
Horde Dwarfs might just make them my favorite faction. I love hordes. And some beards might be a straight upgrade...

this may be a glitch that should be reported or an intended feature but the mercenarys from the quest don't get your bonus recruit rank
Wait, Karaghul gives bonus vs infantry? That's so not what it does...
BTW, the thunderbarge model doesn't really fit the spirit of Grungni, as it is fully enclosed (and much larger). Generally I'm a bit disappointed, that they didn't go for the Dreadfleet model for the airship (with the gondola being sort of a ship that wraps around the lower part of the balloon).
I think 💬 you should help kislev factions as they can be then a strong Allies in future

I always play with a "Gotrek and Felix are heroes" if I have any intention of recruiting them. Did they ever get actual skills in the vanilla game?
Whens this patch going live? I really want to play it, my games been broken since the chaos dwarf patch, launcher opens, then when i start the game it will never actually open the game
