Elsa is actually my favorite Indy girl because she keeps you guessing. You think she's good, then you find out she's bad, but then there's enough evidence to keep you wondering if she's going to be redeemed. In the end she paid the price for her sins though. Elsa just couldn't let it go.

While Sean Connery was excellent in many roles, to the world at this time he WAS James Bond. Bond was the ultimate suave action hero, especially in the 60's and 70's. So seeing the ultimate action hero play against type as a bookworm, who can't believe that his son gets into these Bond-like adventures, just added to the humor and the joy.
In the tank scene, when Connery subdues one of the Germans with a fountain pen, I have to believe that was an homage to Bond's gadgets, especially the fountain pen gadget in Connery's final Bond film. (You'll understand when you see Q issue Bond his gadgets, at the beginning of each movie.)

It has Indy meeting various famous people through the early 1900's Harrison Ford also makes appearances as older Indy in some of the episodes as he reminisces about his younger adventures. Indiana jones and the last crusade is often the favorite among viewers of the Indiana jones trilogy with Raiders of the Lost Ark often a very close second. There is a fourth Indiana Jones Movie released in 2008 called, ‘Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull’ with a musical score once again provide by and composed by John Williams.
According to google it received generally good views from critics and more polarized and likely varied reviews from general audiences. For some viewers the best part of the fourth Indiana Jones movie is seeing Indians jones reconnect with original love interest Marion Ravenwood. I leave it up to you Jen if you want to check it out and decide for yourself if the fourth Indiana Jones movie is a good or at last decent follow up to the original Indiana Jones Trilogy. "Imagine having a snake in your pants..." 2:57
Phrasing! (I'm sure others have made the joke, but I can't resist) This really was the perfect end to the franchise & like many others I wish they hadn't tried to continue it. Oh well, that's for you to judge for yourself.

This is the ultimate Father and Son Story.
It made $474 million dollars against a $60 million dollar budget, making it the highest grossing movie of 1989.
It won the Oscar for Best Sound Editing.
The opening scene was going to involve Indy battling ghosts in a haunted Scottish castle but this was too similar to Speilberg's movie Poltergeist.
The original script had Indy battling the Monkey King over The Tree Of Knowledge, which would later today the into The Holy Grail.

Jen "ewww can you imagine having a snake in your pants."
    Every Male Fan: "Heeeeey?"
But if you want a god Sean Connery movie you need to check out The Rock. It will appeal to tactical Jens action movie side, and you get crazy ass Nick Cage to boot.
The one thing in never got was why they made Marcus and Salla a comedy act in this movie? They were so much more professional and helpful to Indy in Raiders.
DAAAAAAAMN Jen got savage on Elsa after the Betrayal.
I love how so many people miss the fact that the only time his dad calls him Indiana is when he talks to him like he's correcting a dog. And it worked 😂

So much is quietly explained in the opening scene in the desert, even down to us getting to actually see Indiana's namesake as young Indy went running into the house and the dog watched him dash past. 🙂 Hate of snakes, scar on chin, affection for whips, and the dog. Perfect.
It was nice having the love interest also be a semi-villain, dedicated, much like the group in the beginning, more to recovering treasures for pay than for understanding or appreciating the actual worth of them. And having a semi-villain, in Kazim of the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword, actually be a hero, though one with a different final goal than the Jones group. And the actor playing Kazim had an appropriate background for playing such a character, as the actor attended Holy Cross Seminary in Istanbul when he was younger. 🙂
Such an excellent movie and the perfect final chapter to the Indiana Jones series, by which I mean don't watch any of the later cash grabs profaning the name.
Looking forward to classic Sean Connery in Dr. No soon!!!!!

The funny part with casting, was Sean Connery, the original James Bond, an action star, who was now playing Indiana Jones's dad. The 4th was filmed decades later & was not well received (now he's fighting Russians rather than Nazi's), the 5th was filmed a decade or 2 after than with Jones in his 70's, treasure hunting with Marcus's daughter.

  • @markieman64
    @markieman64 2 года назад +1

Connery's casting was very impactful for James Bond fans. Also, "Indiana" isn't Ford's character's name. That was the dogs name. His name is also Henry Jones. That's why his dad calls him junior. The 4th one isn't as good, but they have filmed some of the 5th one in my hometown, and it sounds like that's meant to be pretty good. There are some parts of the 4th one that I think you will like.

Re-watch. 💜 The Hitler signature scene. 😂 The actor who played Hitler in this film was English actor Michael Sheard. He played a small role in Star Wars: The Empire Strike Back as Admiral Ozzel, however Vader Force-chokes him to death for messing up a surprise invasion.
He also had a role in a much loved, long-running UK school drama / comedy for teens called Grange Hill. In that he played a fearsome teacher everyone was afraid of called 'Mr. Bronson'. (😂)

Jen, after the trilogy, George Lucas released the Young Indiana Jones Adventures. In it, he wanted to show history of the early 20th century through Indy’s eyes though age 20, as well as his relationship with his father, and the loss of his mother:
