When they dissed CC, they woke the sleeping giant, poked the bear, grabbed the tiger by the tail, played with fire, opened Pandora's box, bit off more than they could chew, walked into the lion's den, shot themself in the foot, let the dogs out, stepped on Elvis's blue suede shoes, put a hit on Vito Corleone, lit the fuse, drank the Kool-aid, unleashed the kraken, wrote a check they could not cash, crossed the Rubicon, told Tony Spilotro to go home and get his shinebox, leaped before looking, painted themself into a corner, called Marty McFly a chicken, rocked the boat, stepped on a crack, pissed off Bruce Banner, did not stay in their lane and know their role, assassinated Archduke Ferdinand, ate the poison apple, touched a nerve, stole John Wick's car and killed his dog, put their foot in their mouth, brought a knife to a gunfight, bombed Pearl Harbor, broke a mirror, walked under a ladder, crossed paths with a black cat, stirred up a hornet's nest, called the kettle black, bit the hand that feeds them, kicked against the goads, ran with the bulls, stepped on a rake, slipped on a banana peel, dropped the ball, crossed wires, swam with the sharks, danced with the devil, tripped over a land mine, doused fire with gasoline, cut off their nose to spite their face, threw stones in a glass house, boarded the RMS Titanic, tugged on Superman's cape, spit into the wind, pulled the mask off the old Lone Ranger and messed around with Jim.

It's their defense that sucks and Sides is always harping on that but the players need to dig and work harder on D.

@@wilbertditto2659 Mitchell is good, but I don't see that pairing working long term. Neither of them are terribly good on ball defenders. I think KM has the capacity and quickness to be a good on ball defender, but that isn't her personality, and she's never actually really done it.
Is it possible they could win a title by just outscoring everyone, and having scoring lines like 115-110 type games? I guess, but that's sooo hard to do.
What Indiana needs, IMO, is an absolute dawg on ball defender to play beside Clark. Someone who can flex between PG/SG fluidly. Clark has all the scoring help she needs, IMO, in Hull and Boston. With PnR Clark and Boston could both average 18-20 per night the two of them. Having Hull as an outlet could see her chip in plenty as well. Without having to share or look to feed KM as much, yea, they are going to lose some scoring output, but Clark can score more. Boston can absolutely score more, and if they get an elite on ball defender to play beside Clark, they won't have to score as much.
KM is imo, too good to play 2nd or 3rd fiddle in an offense right now. She needs to be a number 1 option, on a team that features more in and out type action. Her and Clark together are such a defensive liability together, and this isn't to say they are both bad at defense, Clark is very good OFF ball, where she uses her IQ and anticipation to get a lot of deflections/steals, but together, it's just waving the opposing guards through.

This video showed me that not only is CC22 FASTER (quicker) than anyone, she HUSTLES more than anyone. She out-hustles her defenders constantly. She has a weird, innate sense for when defenders take a breather, take a moment, have a vulnerable lazy impulse and she blows by them, gets to a pick, or drops back for an open 3. Many times her defenders actually get to her at the 3 point line, but having arrived, they EVERY SO SLIGHTLY pause, and splash. She just moves more, hustles more, and exploits more.

She's not faster or quicker. If she was, she'd be good on ball defending. She's very effective "downhill" and may be one of the best in the league "downhill", which means with the ball running at someone. She is a lot like Steve Nash in this regard. Steve was never even remotely close to being one of the fastest of quickest guys in the NBA, but, he was basically uncontainable when he was coming at you downhill. He was going to get to his spot, penetrate the defense, and either take the 2, or find the open man. CC is very similar in this regard.
Two differences. Clark is less careful with the ball in this scenarios, but simultaneously, she doesn't drive into blind alleys as much as Nash did. By that I mean, Nash would often find himself buried down deep in the lane looking for help when he was forced to pick up his dribble. Clark doesn't do that as much.

@@mercb3ast I take your point, but watching her ball handle, she’s not only “effective” downhill, but sidehill and backhill, too. She gets her defender leaning downhill and she pops back and shoots. She gets her defender just barely leaning to one side and she pops to the side and shoots. So I don’t know how you can call that “not faster or quicker.” I’m not talking about her 40 time! She’s ball quick and ball fast. Quicker and faster than her defenders. My sense is that if she committed to being a defender, and she might in this off-season, she’d be quicker and faster there, too. She is fairly long which would also held with defense. Regardless, she’s quicker in my view because of what I wrote-she sees the defenders commit or pause and gets ahead of them and gets to her move quicker, leaving them behind. That’s quickness. Gretzky was never the fastest skater in the NHL, but he always got there first; thus he WAS the fastest where it counted. He was puck fast, maybe the greatest anticipatory athlete in any sport. CC is ball fast-because she’s mentally faster. And that’s what makes her quicker and faster. She moves more, hustles more, and exploits more. I said that twice…

CC is very very good and will be transcendent but there are several other great all around players including Aja and Arike. Her D and TO’s can hurt the team, requiring crazy amounts of points to overcome. She needs teammates who can rebound and guard the perimeter and can play the two man game without her while she draws two defenders away. I agree with coach’s praise though and I admit I watched the Fever game then tuned in late to the Chiefs. Clark killed in the second half yet they won by just 1 point.

CC is a prophet prophet sent from God to show the world how Jesus would have set an example of participating in playing sports if his racist haters hadn't nailed him to the cross and let him lived on to participate in the worlds 1'st Olympics.... They knew he would have set examples and world records that would have never been broken. There's a verse in the Bible that explains how sportsmanship and the rules amongst all who are willing to participate should be
but false prophets have twisted the word of God around as to where the world is confused and filled with hatred and evil.
God says where I send one prophet others will follow.... Something to be aware of and look out for.

Clark reminds this Lakers fan of Magic Johnson. The make and break fast-breaks. Finding the open shooters, insane passes. Big shout to Mitchell, a few of those finishes you showed weren't easy, and a shout to Boston for unsung screens. Next, I want to see Boston slam dunk. Better yet, Magic feed her a Coop-aloop.

I'm convinced that Caitlin Clark's dad must've had her watching highlights of Magic every day, because the way she runs the offense is like a mirror image of him and that Showtime offense. Her court vision, pushing the pace off of out of bounds plays, willingness to make difficult passes in tight spaces, using her in-and-out dribble to set up the defender. CC is definitely a disruptor and a renegade like Magic and Steph.

*I just can't help comparing Caitlin Clark to so many current NBA Hall of Fame inductees as well as others still currently playing who will undoubtedly be inducted into the Hall of Fame once they retire.*
*Julius Erving, Dennis Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Earvin Johnson.* All of the above, and so many others, point guards and forwards alike who had the ability to read the court, anticipate what multiple opposing players were going to do, and achieve that one, one and a half, or two steps advantage that allowed them to penetrate their opponent's defenses so as to either score themselves, or better yet, pass the ball off to a wide open teammate for an easy score. The near absence of spectacular dunk shots in the WNBA, something rarely seen by the average female professional basketball player, makes Caitlin Clark's performances even more special. This is the purest form of basketball, very little showboating, just solid teamwork that confounds the opposing 5 players and opens up one or more Indiana Fever players for a wide open, virtually ungarded shot.
