If you're going to go to all of that trouble, why not create a push-rod suspension or cantilever suspension design? You could've also fully divorced the wheels from each other and created a truly independent suspension system. Like McLaren did on the P1. If you're gonna spend that much $$$$$$ on a fox body, might as well do it in the best way that's currently possible. Ferro-fluid electro-mag struts with hydraulic over coilover integration. Then it's all about the programming/software/body control module.
More 80s and 90s aftermarket chassis coming. They are making AE86 unibodies in Taiwan now and the same company said they are going to do s13 notchbacks.
I have always wanted to build something like this to rebuild the '84 notch but... $15,500 ... probably a fair price, but I'll have to admire everyone else's instead. 😅
I love that this dude is so excited to talk about it. My guy behind the camera may be a potato. Lol. A channel named Ford Muscle, you'd think he would be a little more energetic about this.
I have a ton of stuff for my stock foxbody. New motor, trans, rear end, suspension, supercharger, etc. This would be killer to have, but im guessing this shit is crazy expensive
A Watt's Link setup would have handled even better, and it seems like they had the space for it. Going full custom why not go for the best option? Though the truly best option would be IRS, but the (almost) bolt on option, the cobra IRS, doesn't seem like it would fit with this.
As others have said, I support all aftermarket options to keep older cars on the road. I'm a G-Body guy, but I appreciate all of this stuff. Some people really do like having option to save on labor prices by getting all of this stuff in one kit.
Nice setup. Seems like a race/drag version would have been better. If I'm spending that kind of money on a car for show, it's going to be the real thing.........
its neat, and im sure its not cheap so this wont apply to most foxbody enthusiasts. id rather have an all TeamZ suspension and cage. thats alot of money to spend and then still need a cage for safetey. cool for a stock cruiser that wants to run big wheels and tires.
@@carbonfiber8071yes, but the wheelbase is 5.1 inches longer on the Fairmont/zephyr bodies that came from the Granada/monarch bodies. Capri chassis is the exact same as a mustang.

How does adding all that 10 gauge boxed steel structure save weight ? I'll believe it when I see it with my own eyes and installed 100% and on a scale !
I felt the same way, but if you think about it they are comparing the weight of a stock foxbody with factory brakes ect. The factory stuff is super heavy compared to a tubular k member. With that being said if you're only doing a tubular k member with drag stuff it's probably lighter than the roadster shop kit, but the roadster shop kit to mee would keep you from having to add bar's for more rigidity. So all in all it should be very similar weight with much more rigidity.
He compared it to factory subframes and having subframe connectors. The factory subframes are ridiculously heavy. That's probably part of it. Also the suspension arms and stuff I'd imagine.
so all the morons that think it adds weight are obviously forgetting to SUBTRACT the weight of all the heavy stock parts that you will be removing/replacing when using this chassis. I know a dumbass that took the STOCK WEIGHT of a complete Fox Mustang and then added the weight of this to it and was all like "see!, it adds so much weight!"...what a fool.
The Ridetech Fox SLA/IRS kit is a fraction of the cost with negligible weight gain and conceivably better handling. The market for this is rich old guys. The RS stuff makes more sense for old muscle cars…sorry to hate.
