    Glossary
    Suburi- Wielding the shinai in the air without striking; the act of swinging shinai / bokuto up and down vertically or diagonally.
    Te-no-uchi- Literally means palm. Work of hands / grasping. Better said: Te- no-uchi is how one grasps the shinai / sword, a) before impact, b) at the moment of impact and c) after the moment of impact.
    Hara - the abdomen; Physically speaking, the lower abdomen. The gravitational center of the human body. Ideally speaking, where the vital center is.
    Seika Tanden "Seika" means below the navel. Referred to simply as the "Tanden". Meaning is as same as "Hara".
