It's a great point you make. I used to think on gray, brown and black straps as neutral, matching most of the dials, but olive green is kind of neutralish matching many too... But not any green.
I made the stretch for an Artem strap and have not regretted it; and will likely buy another. If there was a blue 23mm it would be a done deal. Like the green!
Thanks for the review Peter. I have a black Artem strap and I can justify the cost by rotating the strap across several watches. As you said, the strap does elevate the look of a watch.
I'm not into green, but this one is really beautiful, and i was surprised by how well it works. Thank you for sharing Pete. Hope all is well my friend.
I do love a green strap. They work very well with whites and the military greens work well with blacks. Some work well with blues. I loved my silver-white Max Bill, but when I put it on a green suede it just came alive in an unexpected way. Not quite as formal and dressy anymore, it's now more satisfying for me to wear.
Everytime I went to order one it wouldn't let me get one in a longer length ? Clicked on the length option and only medium was available as an option ? Done this a few times over a few months and still same outcome ? Gave up in the end . Great video as always peter.
Green is an excellent choice for these straps. As boring as it sounds, I’m hoping they’ll release these in a middle grey tone. Grey is another versatile color that goes with everything and often makes colored dials pop more.
Always so satisfying, matching up a strap and watch. Excellent pairings you've created, and I think the price point is worth it. Straps can sometimes seem an afterthought or even a missed opportunity, and I appreciate the aftermarket strap worid. I recently paired up a perfect blue Hirsch to transform a watch, and it was very pleasing after many weeks of searching. I do appreciate when brands get it right, straight out of the box though. That yellow dial Tutima Seven Seas is a fine example, with an exceptional strap. No added costs is a great benefit when a brand nails it.
I would be willing to spring for one of these given the quality, but the fact that they don't offer an XL or XS length boggles my mind, especially at this price point.
Just ordered these to try on my No Time To Die Seamaster... going to try and see if i can make it work on the clasp that came with the milanese bracelet... also thanks for the reminder about the magnatized spring bars, never wouldve known til i saw your video but bought a demagnetizer and will do that when i get it in... great video as always!
That white Aqua Terra is pure and utter elegance! The combination with the green Artem strap is to die for. But I have to say: at this price point I would expect these straps to be free of magnetism out of the box! 😤
I agree, however I don't think I have ever received a strap from any manufacturer that has "quick release" end links that is NOT magnetised. They are all the same, from cheap to expensive
I did not know you were a colorist! So I put a green leather strap (not Artem) on my gold, vintage Omega (Constellation Pie Pan) and it looks awesome. I did not expect that
I hear these are great straps but I've never owned one, and being a tight Scotsman I doubt I ever will 🤭Also seen you talk about checking your new straps for magnetisation in a previous video , top tip cheers Pete 👍
I've always found any military color tones such as olive drab and khaki tan or dusty brown works on just about any watch combination. It's great to finally see Artem make another color besides just black and blue. I've been wanting to get one, or more, for a while. They are pricey... About $90. And, if you really want to get the premium look and feel and opt for that Omega style clasp, it jumps to around $200! Idk?.. I mean even getting a pair with a premium setup at likely somewhere over $400 is quite a commitment when that could go into a decent single watch, either near total price if not towards part of a more expensive purchase. I will say from what I've been told, these straps are truly water resistant. I mean I really need them to be because I plan to get them quite wet.. like submerg d underwater wet. And, if they can't handle it and I ruin a $200+ strap because it can't do what others have said it should be able to do... Then, that would not be cool, to say the least. So, I pose the question again to anyone out there that owns an Artem strap, can they handle being submerged without issue or damage? It really never made sense to me to make a strap out of water resistant material on the outside, but a relatively delicate leather material on the inside. Unless the leather is a special, may e treated?, Kind. Or, it's not genuinely leather.
I finally plumped for one of their straps for my legend diver that wasn’t getting much wrist time. They are great straps and I am now enjoying and wearing the watch more. They are pricey an annoyingly the one I bought is 22m and doesn’t fit the other watches in my collection that it would suit, so I might have to buy another one!!🤣🙄 The only other point you might want to make to your viewers Pete, is that I found the strap very stiff and as I don’t wear it all the time it is taking time to bed in and as of now still feels a bit clunky on my wrist. 👍
Which variant did you get Stuart?.. I found the original design was a tad firmer and requires some break in time. These loopless ones with the Omega style clasp are good to go almost straight from the box Nonetheless, enjoy the look on that diver brother, thanks for sharing 👍
@@PeterKotsa I went for the loopless design with the same deployment clasp that was on the green strap in this video (which I think as you said is the Omega style deployment). It just seems to want to push the watch head off the centre of my wrist sometimes. Having said that the lug to lug on the legend diver is very large so it could be that different watch sizes impact how they work.🤷♂️
Now I could be wrong, but I've also checked all my spring bars after seeing this. Some are worse than others. However none are to the level of say a fridge magnet (roughly 100 gauss.) But also they are all negatively charged. So whilst installed they may mess up accuracy on SOME watches (modern movements probably won't even notice) as they are negatively charged (yours also seem negative) they wouldn't be able to pass their magnetic charge to any component in a watch.
Sorry Peter, i NEVER use this colour as a strap (not only, rarely anywhere). Reminds of the army uniforms (army in general), hate it! And trust me, i have no problem with colour on straps, or any other matter... Cheers mate, hope all is well down under. Not a fan of the ARTEM sailcloth. But hey, ... an individuals experience will vary. That's OK. I got a black version for my SINN556. It will not break in. Far too stiff. Uncomfortable. I very rarely reach for that watch. I gave it a good effort, but I give up. I acknowledge they are well loved by many, ... but my single impression from my single purchase is .... not for me! And as is universally agreed upon .... not cheap. PS: That green does look good. Some great match ups. Especially with that DRAKEN. Kiwi bias! Perhaps I should have led with that observation. :) Cheers!
@@RickinHKG Thats very strange it wont break in. These ones I have I could use perfectly after 15 minutes. They take on the shape of the wrist and away you go. @@PeterKotsa Thanks. I appreciate the suggestion. It has been sitting on a watchbox cushion for many weeks. No luck, ... but thanks again. Love the channel. Might be time for some DRAKEN browsing. Cheers.
Yo también me he sorprendido muy gratamente. Es genial lo bien que quedan!! Cuanto cuestan? Quizás no sean tan caras si lo que obtienes es un reloj nuevo, con un aspecto diferente. Me han gustado mucho.
I'd buy that Aqua Terra if it was 1/2 the ridiculous price it's going for now plus lost 1/3 of its thickness. Omega are out of touch. I much prefer what Christopher Ward are offering these days...and yes I have owned multiple Omegas and Rolexes in the past but I am done with those two brands I buy for value and quality not status.

They are amazing straps. I had not heard of the magnetic issues.
I now have to check mine and run them through my demagnetise machine.
You’ll find quick release spring bars are the culprits the majority of strap manufacturers
Great video! Transforms the watch aesthetically. Thanks!

under consideration for my green dial AT...thoughts appreciated!
I love that khaki green on my speedmaster. May tone-down a watch to give it a more field/military aesthetic.
I was psyched when I saw these on Artems site other day but why no pin buckle? Deployment only? Have you heard of any plans to expand the line?
