What’s frustrating is that it’s so easy to tie almost all of American history to racial issues. What’s doubly frustrating is how eerily well that explanation fits.
What's more, the Apostle John saw the glorified church in heaven. He wrote, "And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold." (Rev. 4:4 KJV) How do we know who these 24 Elders are? They tell us themselves in Rev. 5:9-10...."And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." Note the collective pronouns, "us" and "we". There will be NO ONE in heaven singing of having been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb other than His church. And it's not until Chapter 6 that our Lord rises, takes the title deed to the earth, and begins to break the seals, ushering in the 7 years of Jacob's Trouble.
People are getting the end of time ( judgement day ) mixed up with a man interpretation. God will not forsake or forget his people. But i dont think there is a rapture
Here are 3 teaching on the rapture from the Patristic era. There are more. Neither was Dispensationalism a 19th century invention. From The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles (The Didache), roughly 150 C.E., chapter 16, verses 3-8 "For in the last days false prophets and corrupters shall be multiplied, and the sheep shall be turned into wolves, and love shall be turned into hate; for when lawlessness increaseth, they shall hate and persecute and betray one another, and then shall appear the world deceiver as Son of God, and shall do signs and wonders, and the earth shall be delivered into his hands, and he shall do iniquitous things which have never yet come to pass since the beginning. Then shall the creation of men come into the fire of trial, and many shall be made to stumble and shall perish; ----> but they that endure in their faith shall be saved from under the curse itself. when in the end the Church shall be suddenly caught up from this
1st and 2nd century scholars bilieved in the rapture. It's not as new a concept as opponents want it to be. Just do your own unbiased research. God bless
*Only one or two* early Christians wrote about a possible millennium after Christ's return. For 1,800 years after Christ, the overwhelming majority of Christians believed that when Christ came that was it; He comes with a trumpet, a shout, in the clouds; He carries out the Day of Judgment; He brings a New Heaven and a New Earth, and eternity begins. So, no 1,000-year millennium to follow. And, yes, I *have* done my own research. A lot of it.
Some do not want to read scripture. Those that proclaim Matthew 24:31 as the timing of The Rapture are incorrect and cannot make Matthew 24:31 description of angels being sent out and bringing people to The Lord work with The Rapture. When God comes for The Church He does it all. Raising the dead, giving new bodies and bringing The Church to Him instantaneously is not the work of billions of angels. The Church is bodily in heaven with rewards prior to the seals. Revelation chapter 5 tells us multiple times and ways that is the case and one should study that chapter to know. A lot of information is there. Read in the KJV.
Thanks for replaying this discussion separately.
I have always wanted to know how this belief became so widespread!!!
Then you should see "Dispensationalism Before Darby" by William C Watson because it traces Disp and Rapture doctrine back to the Reformation.

When a country begins with genocide and slavery, it's not much of a stretch to say that those things will have impacts in the future.
So so true!! Almost all of the problems we face in America ties to racism and sexism….. period !!
Church of England bishop Hugh Latimer referenced the rapture sometime before he was burned at the stake; one of the Oxford Martyrs.

Which ones?
"Do your own research" 😂
"Unbiased". Yeah, that's not a thing.

"Read in the KJV". Or (way) better yet, in the Greek. ;) And keep a copy of the LXX handy while you're at it!
