Instead of just joining the bandwagon in making fun of clean coal, you need to understand why it is called that, though I would argue that "Cleaner Coal" would be more apt.
It is high carbon lower soot coal I believe. Anthracite coal compared to lignite or bituminous. The former burns "cleaner" than the latter. Hence the word clean (should have been cleaner) coal. Not just that, but also the technology used to burn this coal is newer and more efficient and captures more pollutants, hence cleaner.

The Australian government doesn't do much governing.
We are a lucky country that is rich thanks to selling dirt to other countries. Effectively a Congo with better rule of law. That is all. We manufacture squat, import even the absolute basic necessities and for a mining superpower, don't even make most of the machinery. Just pathetic.
