I've been a Notre Dame football fan and lived one mile from the stadium for 65 years. Am not an alum but ND is my blood. I've experienced the great Parseghian teams of the 60's, and the last national championship team in '88. As the guys just mentioned, I've also lived through some very bad football. Frankly, I wasn't sure that ND would ever reach this level again. All I can say to all the fans is enjoy this. This team and this time is special. One of the greatest football games I've ever watched.
Do we know who that was? Recovering the fumble was truly amazing. I was at the game and from where I was I thought it was PSU ball 100%, I couldn't believe when the refs didn't signal it their ball.
Angeli is a special guy. Not many QBs in the portal age wouldn't have stuck it out to be the backup. But Angeli bought in. He wanted to be a part of this team, and he came through when he was needed. Love that kid.
Steve gets the MVP for waking up a stagnant offense, putting points on the board going into halftime, and giving the offense confidence. Our team is very young, we have amazing depth, and Steve is ready to lead next year. Meanwhile, off to the NC!
So tell me how this happened. 3rd string Left Tackle. 1st string Right Guard, becomes starting Left Guard after returning from a prolonged injury. 2nd string Left Guard becomes starting Center. 1st string Left Tackle becomes Right Guard after returning from prolonged injury. What a 2nd half. Please pull one more rabbit out of the hat on 1/20. The training room will need extra tables for the next 10 days, but one more win is that close.

ND halftime adjustments were really noticeable. They came out in the 2nd half and played different. Not great or anything spectacular, but they were def playing better.

@ Texas is a really good team. They couldn’t get out of their way in the last UGA game and vs OSU. It’s always easy to say but the best QB on Monday night wins this game. A battle of 2 transfers!
Interesting point, Tim: Sneed blew coverage on that Singleton drop early in the game, and then Sneed perfectly came on the delayed blitz leading to the Gray INT late in the game. That is a great synopsis of the ND team. "The last play doesn't matter, it is the next play that matters." This team just really stays in the game and they have so much character.
I think Sneed thought Moore had the new #1 in coverage who is the RB. The DB's switched responsibilities off the motion from what I saw. Same in the UGA game when Bowen got beat. Heard played a lot and was excellent vs. Warren. Sneed keeps getting better and better.

watching it on tv, the thing that really pissed me off besides the schuler PI, was the second to last ND play. there was 10 seconds on the clock, they run a play-center the ball and they put 12 seconds on the clock with no explanation.
I think it is interesting that Singleton ripping that 12 yard run on PSU’s last possession helped ND win the game. That was a classic late game scenario for PSU: run it on first down, if you get nothing then play for OT. If you get a chunk, then you go for it. Singleton grabbed 12 yards, Franklin decided to go for it, and Christian Gray and Mitch Jeter made them pay.

The irish are 4-0 against the acc 4-0 against the big 10 2-0 against the mighty sec beating the sec champs go irish on to the natty
To me that interception Penn State QB threw was karma it was like pay back what happened. In 1990. #1 Notre Dame lose the game when Rick Mire throw the ball down the middle and Penn State intercepted Ricks pass than kick the winning game field goal 24-21 and ended Notre Dame's dreams the same way ND did to them last night☘🏈

And? You play who is on your schedule. It's all you can do. Nobody knew Miami was going to pull out of the scheduled game with ND, nobody knew USC was going to be bad, nobody knew Florida State was going to suck, etc. It isn't at all like ND tried to line up a weak schedule. All ND could do was play the schedule they had. And, then, in the playoffs they have beaten three straight top 10 opponents. So, sorry ... the "weak schedule nonsense" is just that ... nonsense.
