Too bad they limit hp to 600 at the flywheel. Some of us Heavy Haul guys won't buy new because the US EPA won't allow above 600 hp anymore. You guys are limited to 100 kmh in Australia but can still pull weight with your gearing and drive train set ups. You have some nice rides, some day I'd like to drive one of your road trains.

They do make them here. In Renton Washington. But apparently they hate us Americans.

Just 600 hp in aussie! We have 770 or something in Sweden and only totalweight of 64 kg tons.

    • @donaldwayne4219

We have 770 FH Volvo too. 780 Scanias. Mack trucks run a Superliner with Volvo 685 and the Volvo auto transmission for about 10 years now pulling 4 trailer Roadtrains (pulls like a train too, lots of torque) up to nearly 200 tonne. In the North of Western Australia there are also numerous (in the hundreds) 4 trailer Roadtrains, Quads, some over 200 tonne carting iron ore to port where there is no access to railway lines. This includes like FH Volvo 10 wheel Prime Movers, Scanias(occassionally), Western Star, Kenworth and Macks. There is a range of horsepower options, 770 Volvo, 780 Scania and the Americans like Cummins may start at 600 but can be opened up to around 660. Roadtrains are mostly speed limited to only 90kph too. Sometimes electronically and sometimes mechanically by gearing. Either way the gearing is pretty low compared to a highway truck, helping to provide better pulling power also.
If you want to see an impressive Volvo FH double roadtrain, 2 fuel tanks, just over 90,000 litres I think, search on youtube for, twocrowsdown. Yes that is how it is spelled. Twin steer prime mover and 4 axle trailers, not the biggest combination but pretty impressive configuration.

Why do you hate me kenworth? Why you gonna build one of the most beautiful trucks produced in the past 15 years and not let Americans get one.

Better in Europe. Not too popular in 🇦🇺. Rough roads and small problems with electrical components and that sort of thing. Not the backup and service availability as in Europe unfortunately. Can't be left stranded in the outback.
