    Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about the Omniverse (or since we're doing this, SketchUp and the Metaverse) in the comments below! :)

  • @macroiu3778
    @macroiu3778 2 года назад

    very confusing compared to the twimmotion despite nvidia should be more powerful in terms of hardware & programming capability...

    It looks like artificial intelligence is being trained on our projects. It's like we're adding to its learning database. That's why it's free.

      I'm not sure I agree, though I suppose it's possible. Even if it is accurate, I'm not sure I'm really worried about it. Everything I've seen from their AI so far has been focused on individual objects and model creation from things like photos and videos. I assume it would be much more beneficial for them to analyze something like SketchFab instead of the small number of individual models being sent to Omniverse apps

    UE4-5, Twinmotion, D5 render and now this... All these will throw the traditional paid(expensive) render engines under the bus, soon. This new era is not about earning money on licenses but something else. Just look at Blender and all products of GOOGLE! They're all relatively free to use and create.

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  2 года назад +1

      You know D5 and Twinmotion aren't free for commercial use, right?

      @@Thesketchupessentials also UE ,but my point was things are changing. License types will change in the near future.

    Do you think unreal 5 would be better since it is not specific to RTX cards

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  2 года назад

      Hard to tell - Unreal Engine has its own set of challenges just stemming from the complexity of the program. At the moment I'd just say they're "different" as neither has been fully optimized for this use case quite yet in my opinion.

    • @cekuhnen
      @cekuhnen 2 года назад

      Unreal is a game engine and game design platform
      While unreal engine can be used also for viz work it seems more being abused for it than being a good fit
      Looking at twinmotion which is unreal based shows a much more appropriate workflow
      Too bad that there is no live linking

    • @adrianscarlett
      @adrianscarlett 2 года назад

      @@cekuhnen unreal WAS just a game engine, but now it has so much more functionality it can be used for many data visualisation tasks. there's even a CAD kernel available in testing amongst other things.

    Hi, I've tried to run the Omniverse in Sketch-up but I couldn't. I'm using SU 2020 version now. Could it be because of this and do I need to download the SU new version?

  • @jazzlehazzle
    @jazzlehazzle Год назад

    Sending everything to Unreal would be redundant in this case unless for some reason you needed to add events and deeper interactivity than Create provides. It also sounds like Create will continue to add more and more functionality similar to a game engine, and should eventually be able to go two-way between Unreal and back , instead of just from Unreal > Create as of now. So it may eventually be a great real-time aggregator for sending content to UE, but honestly, UE basically already is that for itself, just missing the real-time collab & live-link aspect. But I'm sure that'll be coming to UE before too long as well. Nice intro tho, very thoughtful. 👍
