  • Volkswagen Experiences is an idea we wish every manufacturer would adopt. It helps us to witness the rather unknown and adventurous roads of our beloved country. Not just for the media, but also an opportunity for Volkswagen to get closer to its customers or even potential customers and get to know what they expect from their point of view.
In this maiden edition of the VW Experiences, we witnessed the great landscape of Leh, a land where you are surrounded by an astonishing view of mother nature on all four sides. We also visited the Siachen Base Camp, making this the first-ever media drive done by any manufacturer to successfully make it to this rather more unseen location.
We then went on to take the road less traveled back down to Manali. But along the way we decided to take a glimpse into the work the Border Roads Organization does through the impressive infrastructure projects that led us to some stunning, untouched landscapes in Southern Ladakh. The Volkswagen Tiguan was our companion, and was like always, secure and capable at handling this tough journey.
Let us take you through this journey where we didn't just enjoy the company of the Himalayan ranges, but also the true might and capability of a Volkswagen.

I was part of this event…. There were around 44 participants. Only 5-6 participants are shown in the videos. Most of the people shown are content creators. Glamour quotient is given space who hardly drove whereas we the actual drivers who drove through these tough terrain are not shown.
Loved the journey though,(thanks to VW) for their VW experience. Very well organised with absolute professionalism. Thanks to the whole team but little disappointed.

Instead of paying journalists/RUclipsrs to make such promotional videos, VW should use that money to drop the prices of their cars - Tiguan if sold at 25 lacs will be hot cake

Vw spending amount on content creators and influencers --- instead they should focus on hybrid and diesel engines with zf transmission if they really want to give real cars to india with high sells -- alwo we want global varaints only and not cost cut ver 2.0

Over Engineered, Over Priced, Least Selling Car in SUVs Segment of India.
Just for info - many of our Indian Co. manufactured Cars have travelled the same route including Tata Punch with ease.
Many of our Royal Enfield motorcycles also has traveled on the same roads without any problems.
So its nothing extraordinary Achieved by VWs Tiguan. Except ego massage of VWs owners.

Tiguan is among the top-selling cars globally. The VW Tiguan is a perfectly engineered safe premium SUV which comes with All-Wheel Drive, flagship automatic DSG transmission & many more advanced safety features which most people like you are incapable of understanding or appreciating till it actually saves their lives. There are many car enthusiasts who actually understand and appreciate the marvellous engineering and are willing to pay the extra premium for that.
If you want to see the "extraordinary" achieved by the Tiguan, then put it against any car below 50-60 lakhs on a drag race and see the Tiguan absolutely fly past them in seconds.

@@Harry-f7f Have no doubts on the German engineering & their Cars.
Unfortunately in India 95% of Cars are used in City & maybe maximum 5% for highways. Average speed in City is 15-20 km/hr maximum. And there are no roads in the City traffic which offers drag racing.
Whether you drive an Alto K10 or Tiguan you might reach at the same time. Maybe 5 mins maximum here & there.
These German Cars offers the best Performance & fun to drive Cars for highways but they are absolute waste in our City traffic.
My Concern is than Why pay more that's in my view.
Unless they offer affordable India specific Sub 4 Mts Cars with decent efficency, it's hard to survive with limited portfolio.
Let people experience with offordable VW-Skoda as 1st time buyers. Only than when they are satisfied they will buy bigger & better expensive Cars in future. Until then you got to wait for Car Owners to mature, experience, understand & admire the German engineering.

@@rajoosolanky780 Yes, it is indeed true that for a regular city-commuter spending the premium does not make sense, but a decent pool of buyers, who travel thousands of kilo-meters on the highway in their cars, would spend the extra money.
Since on the highway cars like the VW Tiguan actively decrease your stress level by a remarkable amount when you are driving for more than 10-12 hrs(telling from personal experience). This is not a tangible "feature" of the car, but it is a subtle effect of the beautiful engineering that works behind the scenes
Needless to say, the Tiguan isn't a car made for the masses, but for the select few who do enjoy travelling in their cars, it is a near-perfect car in its segment and price-point.
Having said that, I totally agree with your statement on VW's need to launch better entry-level product for the Indian market to attract customers.
