      @@rajanimdskincare I don’t believe this product should be sold or legal in the US. The permanent disfigurement from artefill and Bellafill in all of the case studies is horrifying. Some dr’s lie about the duration of the product. Don’t disclose off label usage. They don’t disclose any kind of allergy testing that is mandatory and yet when you call suneva they say it’s mandatory but that they can’t mandate their customers to follow safety protocols?? I understand that as the consumer it’s our responsibility to research a product but if providers lie..it makes it much harder on the customer. This stuff should be banned except for plastic surgeons only.

      @@anniegrace6709 I understand what you are saying. The studied granuloma rate is less than 1%.
      The skin test is optional in Canada. It is useless from a practical perspective as one could test negative twice and then become positive. The collagen goes away inn6 weeks so it isn t an issue. A dose of steroids and done. I have used it since 2007. I have it in my face. I m very careful about who and where I use it. The nodule rate for dome other products is higher. The 5 year duration story comes from the fda approval study. I definitely get your points. Like a care. It can be used for good ( to get to work) or bad ( to run someone over).
      It is a tool. Choose your injector wisely.

      @@rajanimdskincare thanks for the response. This dr put .4 in each cheek but I feel it was very randomly injected. .2 in each NL, .2 in each marionette and then threw a bit in my chin. She didn’t even tell me it was plastic. Just that it was bovine collagen that would be absorbed by my body in a year or so. Does that seem like a ton of product that will give me issues? 2 syringes total.

    There are many doctors who keep claiming that Bellafill lasts 5 years when in actuality it is permanent. What they fail to tell patients is that the studies terminated at 5 years so that's why they only say 5 years. It gives the patient the wrong impression that it is long lasting but not permanent, which is false. The effect may lessen over time due to continued aging, but the actual material never degrades.

    • @rajanimdskincare
      @rajanimdskincare  4 года назад +21

      Yes and no. The patients in the longevity study are being followed longer than 5 years. The accepted data by the fda is for “results” lasting to 5 years. You can read the 7 year data but it has not been fda approved. Thus they can only state “5” years by law. I think you were implying that they may be intentionally misleading people when in fact they cannot say permanent . I do appreciate your point. HA fillers last much longer than 6 months but some only have approval data for the 6 months or 12 months. Voluma has 24 months. They would love to say 5 years but legally they cannot. Thanks for bringing up the point.

    I have Bellafil in my high cheek. I had it initially about four years ago and I had a syringe added in each cheek last July (2020). I like it and wouldn’t change anything about it. I’ve had every kind filler and I don’t like to have to go back every year to get filler. I never had cheeks! As my face has aged it has been a way to give my lower face a lift. I could definitely have gotten more than a syringe in each cheek last time but all I could afford at the time. I may add more this Summer. He used a cannula for placement. I have had a little lump before in my lower face below the corner of my mouth but it was never visible and is almost gone now where Juvederm was used a number of times over the years to maintain some volume in that area. BTW I’m 60.

    The operative word regarding Bellafil is-PERMANENT. I made a huge mistake having this filler out into my face-by a “professional”-not a single plastic surgeon in my area would use the product. It CANNOT be removed. I could never recommend this product. If there is anyone out there that can recommend a good plastic surgeon that would be willing to possibly surgically remove Bellafil from my face, I would really appreciate their name so I can check them out.

    I had my lips done with the European version of that filler called Dermalive about 20 years ago and now I would like to reshape them a little bit but it seems it's too risky because of the possibility of granulomas or inflammation.
    I agree with you that it's better to get non permanent products than the permanent ones, as our features are changing all over the years and if you don't like it anymore there is no way to eliminate or improve it with no permanent fillers.

    Very informative, thank you! I'm a thin girl with what looks like a little fat pouch under my chin. When I went to get Kybella done, they actually said that it's not fat. My skin just hangs a little lower there AND my chin/jaw area there wasn't fully formed (orthodontic issues growing up, now getting invisalign and some veneers to correct). Because that aren't didn't full form, it made my chin look like it cuts off a bit higher, creating that allusion of chin fat. I plan to start with HA first, just to see how I like it. I'm less concerned with nasolabial folds. The spots she pointed to for the injections are a little hard to describe. They weren't directly below the corners of by mouth but a touch inward from each corner beneath the lips. Is this an area that you are familiar with using bellafill? What amount would seem reasonable if this is a good spot. I'm asking you in part because my dermatologist advised against any fillers on the lower face because he said they can create heaviness. He will be using sculptra on the cheekbone area to address it from above. I wonder if I should also layer it with bellafill per the aesthetician, who I believe does good work.
