serious respect for the drummer who kept it together even though the crowd was completely overpowering him for a minute with the most off beat clap i have ever heard at 0:34
I can't even describe the feelings the opening riff gives me. it sounds like every sunny day of my childhood, my youth, my adolescence. The beginning of a great unknown. Don't be so afraid, child.
definetly the best band in the whole world coudnt imagina another artist out there who reaches even close to there skill level on stage, its uterly impossible that there is a better band in this world than my morning jacket.
This song has been stuck in my head since Sunday night. I heard a piece of it being played in Sunday night football. I hadn't heard the song in years. I found it!!
I think I am one of the few Koreans who saw their extraordinary gigs in London in 2003. It's been nearly two decades since I saw James sing in front of my eyes. They were so young and full of energy, and beautiful! I truly hope this crazy coronavirus all goes away and hopefully see their concerts once again! I also hope *My Morning Jacket* recognize there are ardent fans of theirs in South Korea as well :)
I’m from their hometown of Louisville, KY and have been a MMJ fan since their early days. I had never missed any of their concerts in Louisville but then we moved to South Korea for two years due to my husbands military service. I prayed for two years they would come to Seoul but sadly it never happened. I actually cried when I saw them again after our return to the US. They have never done an Asian tour to my knowledge. Do you think there would be enough fans there to support that?
Heard this song back in the day when it first came out and was hooked automatically. Found this video and my reaction is the same as it was back then....Oh my faaaackin goddd ! Alotta yrs later and it's held up so well. Visceral in so many ways and I love it still !!!
I'm constantly playing my GH mind guitar to the intro of this song. It's an extremely fun song and possibly the only reason I know of My Morning Jacket. GH introduced me to many bands I now greatly respect.
Yes dude. It's horrendous to clap on the 1 & 3. Ironically, the Brits are famous for this very idiotic way of hearing the beat and clapping like that. It used to drive Elton John crazy. That's why that 1/3 hand clapping was recorded. Havin a laugh.
@@Franckdatank they're off time.. I think the guitarist hit that all open string chord to try to drown the off tempo crowd clapping. The crowd gets it together after he does that though.
this is the greatest rock and/or roll band on earth. look at the audience shots. I saw a few people in the front straight up losing their minds. one guy in a blue shirt pisses himself. such is the pure power and magic that's happening.
nice to see real rock music with feeling, artistry, muscle and tenderness - the promise of rock is either too often wasted (Muse, e.g.) or simply 'referenced' as a hook in some massive sound canvas or hip-hop jam
Wakin' up feelin' good and limber When the telephone it ring Was a bad man from California Tellin' of a stone he'd bring And of better days From this town, we'd escape If we holler loud and make our way We'd all live one big holiday So we listened and up the river And recorded all the sounds Was some shakin' and some record playin' All the leather kids were loud
I didn't hear it on American Dad!, eventhough I like the show. I sw Jim James singing Going to Acapulco at I'm Not There then went look for it. Check out his work at Mosters of Folk, it's pretty awesome as well.

@Bobby Kenneth gee this definitely isn’t a fake account
He must've had that click track turned up to 100 to manage that. That must be so annoying. lol
Yeah imagine people being excited hearing their favorite song. What a disgrace!
he's very underrated imo
I know right....I’m glad I was the only one that noticed that.
I’ll admit: part of the reason why I knew about My Morning Jacket is because they appeared in an episode of American Dad.
I can't even describe the feelings the opening riff gives me. it sounds like every sunny day of my childhood, my youth, my adolescence. The beginning of a great unknown. Don't be so afraid, child.
hats off to the drummer. epic.
Their energy, their prowess, their power, everything they do is just so full of feeling and beauty. Best band in the world.
I just found out they're playing an outdoor concert in my city park this summer and I'm pretty excited. Seems like the perfect end of Covid.

This comment is the best. Agreed. 💗

Saw them a week ago at ohana fest.. Blew my face off
I miss Letterman so much. He had the best bands on his show.
This, son, is a Rock and Roll band.
those guys with the air guitars at 3:52 is priceless
Great band...one of the BEST of the last years from USA
Fast forward 12 years. Just saw them in Oregon. Wow! So good. Their light show was amazing. Jame's vocals were incredible.
I'm 64 still rock out to this
Live or record this track means a lot to me. "Waking up and feeling good and limber". I also got a call from a man in CA.

Hey I hope so as well
Wish I could go back in time to 13 years ago..😔
Thank you guitar hero for introducing me to this song/band!
My favorite rock n roll song of the past decade. Hands down.
Thats what baseball players call "being in the zone". Well done boys. Love it.
The drummer really ads power to the music. This is a great band, with a real rock and roll drummer; doesn't get much better these days.
Yeah. “Doesn’t get much better these days” says so much.
This track has been one of my all time faves for quite some time. Makes me wanna break through walls
Been a while since I've seen a band rock out like this
BFMV
The '70s had Baba O'Riley. We have One Big Holiday. I am pleased.
I found out about this band through American dad years ago lol
Such an underrated song. Hadnt heard it til recently but its honestly incredible
This is EPIC! I will say this-Most people do not even know of MY MORNING JACKET! Sad, but SO TRUE! Rock on, GREG
One of two Red Rocks shows I have walked out on. They fucking sucked but not as bad as slightly stupid.
Out of this world
Drum intro reminds me of She Bangs The Drums.

I love cranking this one in my car!
Frank Piccirillo that’s one of the best feelings ever!
they ROCKED the hell out of that stage/crowd!
His hair looks nice and fluffy, that is a very clean drummer.
This is the song that got me into My Morning Jacket. I was like, this is more than just rock.. this is everything. And I went down there album hole
I'm constantly playing my GH mind guitar to the intro of this song. It's an extremely fun song and possibly the only reason I know of My Morning Jacket. GH introduced me to many bands I now greatly respect.
If I ever become president I will get these guys perform at my inauguration
Holy shit I've loved MMJ for years but I never realized how much these guy rock! Hell yeah!
Really changes your life after seeing them live
They lift my soul to a brighter place, glorious group ❤️
God damn crowd, clapping off time during the intro...
I know, I hate when it happens so much

wtf? theyre clapping what the drummer is doing, they dont know the song
@@Franckdatank they're off time.. I think the guitarist hit that all open string chord to try to drown the off tempo crowd clapping. The crowd gets it together after he does that though.
incredible. so good
Mind you this was filmed for tv somewhere around 5-6 o’clock and most people were sober excluding habits
Thank Guitar Hero!!!
I luv this band!!!
BEST song ever :D thumbs up if you agree
The fact that I cannot remember where I was the first time I heard this song is driving me nuts. It's right in the back of my head....
This is such a perfect song. Awesome performance.
such a great performance, there is real passion in what these guys do
This song was featured in the ad immediately preceding it....
The explosion jam at 5:14 almost melted my face.
I was here because of American Dad about a week ago. Now I'm here because I love the song.
Great live band.
Probably the best live band ever.
No. Love them, but the comments here are ridiculously myopic.
That’s a bold statement.
You don't get out much.
Nah, hard disagree bud.
@@Donyourmom Thanks for bumping this amazing song into my notifications :D
Look how happy that crowd is at the end of that performance! Man I wish I was there!

top class
@TacomaJack09 no jack white is rock n roll at its finest

That drummer is possessed !!

If you weren't high you weren't there.
THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL RAW TALENT!!
Real music in the 21st century.
Marvelous Musicians, Wow!!!
fucking one of the best songs written by any band in a long fucking time,
one of the most kick ass drummers ive ever heard man.
Rock and roll is alive and well.
Wakin' up feelin' good and limber
When the telephone it ring
Was a bad man from California
Tellin' of a stone he'd bring
And of better days
From this town, we'd escape
If we holler loud and make our way
We'd all live one big holiday
So we listened and up the river
And recorded all the sounds
Was some shakin' and some record playin'
All the leather kids were loud
Why should you care what other people's motives for watching this video are? We're all here for My Morning Jacket, are we not?
Paul Shaffer just shat his pants.
With all the garbage today this is refreshing. Carry on.
I didn't know Jesus was such a great drummer
even the claps sound good on this recording
like if you came here cause this was some bad ass shit
Holy crap amazing live performance
Dang this sounds awesome even live!
This was a good performance but my favorite one of this song when they performed it on Conan.
The only things bigger than their hair in that performance were their rock energy and virtuosity. Classic
This is real music !!!!!!!!!! OMG!
4:47 goose bumps started! Inspiring. They leave it all out there. Very cathartic!
the guitar sounds so so wicked :) such a great guitarist
What a badass band.
THANK YOU AMERICAN DAD
Love this song and band. Saw them this past summer in Chicago and they were awesome. Great live band.
thank you guitar hero!!
Upcoming musicians out there take note....this is what a ROCK performance is all about !
they rocked .
This my friends, this is rock and roll.
it's all about MY MORNING JACKET
This is the liquid you get before the spark hits the lighter straight fire
I absolutely love this song but I don't know any other song by them.
5:05 Damn!
no tengo palabras es hermoso
They have the energy of metal players
So powerful... true musicians! Much respect
Jim James knows this song is their DMT level song. Shot out of a fuckin' cannon!
they are live as good as they always were.
still to this day i am in love your musikk
the ad before the video was for my morning jacket. hahaha
