Retired but worked many years in transportation logistics. Everything is researched, roads checked, stops planned, and reservations made. I do love a puzzle 😊.

Valuable video, MJ and Izzy! Absolutely agree, planning is essential. When we first started RVing, one of the attractions for us was a perceived spontaneity. That quickly proved itself not to be so easily realized, as many campgrounds are booked up well in advance. Even with preplanning a trip, you may find that you have to change plans, as you have mentioned, weather and the realities of life can cause you to make changes, either in the route, accommodations or unforeseen technical issues with your RV, though hopefully rare. You plan, but then you "go with the flow".

Yep, I think people could be more spontaneous years ago when it came to booking campgrounds but that’s just not the case anymore. So many RVers. We’d rather book in advance and get what we need. Thanks for sharing Wes!

I’m not a winger. I like to plan things out. At today’s rate with a lot of Rvers on the road I have to plan a head to get into a campground. These are tips. When we went camping we brought sandwiches and snacks and we even did that traveling in a car as well. Thank you so much Izzy and MJ for this video. This helps.

We plan our stays at campgrounds. But we are more flexible on the quick overnight stops. (Wal-Mart, rest area, Cracker Barrel) I have to learn to incorporate Boondockers Welcome more often. I've had it for 3 years, and I keep forgetting I have it!

Great minds! I laughed when MJ mentioned her recurring checklist, since l get strnge looks when i talk about mine! I 'bold' when a chore is done, then go back to normal for next time. It may seem weird, but it works! Have a Merry Christmas!

I love using RV Life app to plan out our trips. I can check out reviews, GPS maps, itinerary, expense report, and more.

We plan as much as possible for our trips. But, sometimes, you have to ditch your plans , go with flow, and make adjustments. Isn’t that part of the joy of Raving???😊

I can never wing it with anything. With a plan, it is easier to shift if needed. As far as 2025, we have already booked 12 trips for the year, including ocean side resort in Maine, during the 4th of July. You aren't getting that by winging it.

Definitely not lol Sounds like a fun year planned already.

Travel solo with my 4 current dogs so I make sure I have their food, water and any meds they take. Bottles water for me. So far travel from Nebraska to Michigan via Minnesota so reserve at campgrounds about a 5 hour drive each day. I pretty much know where I need to stop to fill truck with diesel at truck stops.

We do a little of both booking ahead, calling from. Thr road, for most times I try to find an overnight spot along our route. For final destination whete we'll be awhile, someplace wih a better place, a few amenities...part of that is time of year...eRly spring and fall pools don't do much forme...lol been know to wing it too...but my job doesn't inlude videoing destinations iRV to relax or go spend time with frinds but take a private bedroom/bathoom with me.

Do you have a bug out bag, something you can grab and take with you in case of emergency, or a brief case that used as a bug out bag.

Ugh! Not necessary to show that disgusting toilet! Just tell us, trust me it’s bad! We’ll understand. I had just finished eating dinner. Thank goodness I wasn’t in the middle of dinner. I couldn’t even finish watching the video. 🤮

@ There are a lot of realities of life that I don’t necessarily want to see. Like a person being assaulted, an animal being abused, etc. Maybe, next time you can give a little warning. Usually I 😍 your videos! This one just got to me. 🙂

The only way I could wing it is if I planned it. 🙁
That's why services like Adventure Genie are catnip to me. Checklists are like Math exams - accuracy comes with showing your work (on paper). 8 great tips, Izzy and MJ!👍🏾💙🤍❤️
