I love the style of the Sonic, and had I not just bought and received my Dark Knight standing scooter last month, I would have bought this instead. When WEPED built the Sonic, they finally corrected three pain points for me on the Dark Knight. The 1st is going with Brembo brakes. The Nutt brakes are just not good enough at high speeds, plus Brembo is light years ahead of everything else on the market. I have them on my sports car, and when you want to stop on a dime, you do. The 2nd issue that is now fixed on the Sonic, is the built in display, front and center. Not having one on the dark Knight and using my phone, just doesn't cut it. You spend $13k on a scooter that only tells you volts, not anything else bugs me to death. Also, there is no way to track miles that you've driven for maintenance purposes. I had to buy a log book off of Amazon just to keep track of how many miles I put on my scooter. And finally the 3rd point, and that is putting both batteries inside the main base of the unit verses one upright and the other in the base that kind of looks like an afterthought. Now there is just one downside to this, and that is the height has now increased where you stand and it looks like x 2times the height of the DK. The higher off the ground you are, the higher the center of gravity, and I hated that on my FLJ 14X, which is why I sold it. Other then that, this looks amazing for sure. Let me address your comments regarding, who are these scooters for and why are they so expensive. First, WEPED scooters are all hand made and takes about 30 days to produce a single unit. The machine work needed to produce these things are expensive. On top of that, they are using some of the best hardware you can buy for a scooter, like Samsung batteries, NUTT & Brembo brakes etc. I ride my scooter almost everyday but only for fun. I don't believe these would make good commuter scooters because of the weight factor and other things, but it will surely get you to where your going quickly. These are not for everybody and the price puts it out of reach for most people, but if you can afford it, go for it because you won't be disappointed. The final comment I'll make is regarding the charger. Yes, it's kind of stupid to spend $15k on a scooter and then add $200. for the charger but it's NOT required like it says in on the purchase page. How do I know? Because when I bought my DK, I bought the 15amp fast charger for $200. However, when it was shipped it was the standard charger of 10amps (which is free). It doesn't say that on their home page, but after contacting them, they quickly sent me the one I paid for, which charges the scooter in about 4 or 5 hours verses 10+ hours on the standard charger. So i hope I helped out answering some of the questions you have asked on your channel. Thanks...
I appreciate you taking the time to answer some of these questions. They definitely need to work on their website. When I was trying to purchase the Weped FS from their website, it was confusing and I had to keep messaging them on WhatsApp for clarifications. Congratulations on your dark Knight and yes, I wish they would have put a built in display on all their other electric scooters so you can at least track the the mileage like the sonic. I know it's probably not your thing but any chance you will make a video about your dark knight and upload to RUclips for us dreamers?
Exactly! This is a frikkin custom scooter I doubt there are many of them on the market. You and I are on the exact same wavelength on a lot of things but especially this. I think this guy makes the scooter and accompying vids so he can get viral videos. I think he’s a Korean businessman high on the attention.
I seriously hope that's not the case because they make some awesome electric scooters that most of us would like to get our hands on, but I think he might be following Rion’s marketing strategy, which is not a good idea.
Spring of 2023, watch us opening a World HQ and Warehouse in Seattle Washington plus a Mega factory in Texas. We will be manufacturing EV Scooters, Bikes, Power banks, 3 wheel car/ +200miles and much more~~~~~
Great job I was looking at weped and trying to get info and you can't till I seen this video. Not no more ill stick with Dualtron thanks for the 411 you did an awesome job 👏 be safe my brother
😎👍... Awesome Video. I named the Weped #1 for 2023 already but retracted it due to the fact You got the Dualtron X limited / Slack Core 920r / Rion Apex / Teverun Fighter Supreme/ Fidico Black Knight and 2 more 95mph in the works I can't speak on till they actually annouced. What I can say Minimotors NYC are exclusive dealers of the Slack Core 920R. And Minimotors P.E.V sells Weped exclusively and if you purchased them at their shop they also service them. The Weped Sonic was a collaboration with a USA individual that came up with it. Now why they so expensive 1. They are hand made and 2.that material is different than any other electric scooter I have personally seen 3 Weped crashed and upon inspection I couldn't find a scratch or dent not to say They can't be damaged but they built super tough and they always innovating and pushing the envelope. You right though they ain't for everybody. I'm about to downgrade due to portability and pick up a Dualtron Victor Luxury Plus a.k a The portable rocket 🚀 ship.
you mean they don’t add the fast charger right? Because you do need a charger lol but I think I get what you’re saying. Not sure if it says otherwise now, but it wasn’t saying it comes with a standard charger
Do like I did when I brought my scooter...I brought all the extra parts like controllers, display and tires etc; which just for the extra parts it was a extra $700. I admit it wasn't a weped but this was a smart move on my part...
I've seen that video. You are right I said the same thing well watching the video. That's why I kept my purchase of the Rion apex that goes 75mph even though it been 1 year now and still no scooter. The wait is ridiculous. But the weight is less than 90lb. Very portable as well.
That’s one of the thing I really like about the Rion the portability. I couldn’t believe how lightweight it was when I lifted it up at the shop. I’m just not willing to wait 2 to 3 years to get one.
Weped Sonic is more like a motorcycle!🏍 However, it is still useless in Australia because you can't ride at high speed on the road. This is what I hate the most.
Weped is the Bugatti of E-Scooters so when you are on top making the best products you charge a premium. I bet any Weped will smoke any wolf or nami or any of those other brands.
I could have gotten this plus the Model Y if I had just waited 3 more months to purchase Model YP. I guess that's loife. Would be noice to ride around in India. But got to kept it saaafe. Berri No-ICE.
Said this on their last video, they are crazy for sure, but now I don't see the point, unless it's for very rich people There's alot more that really get it, the UK prohibits them We need electric scooter/mopeds that comply that don't cost the earth Someone, somewhere will hit the design on the head, and will be very successful
Oh yeah that goes without saying. Those things are clearly for ppl who are a) super into e-scooters/PEVs and also b)very wealthy. For the same reason I think one shouldn`t look at this company as if they are even trying to appeal to the needs or wants of the average person/market. They have an incredibly small target group and know it full well. And btw judging from everything I saw about those scooters I`m pretty much sure that they actually make very small profit on each one they sell. Similar to Hi-Fi "industry" these are products made by a small staff where most of the work is done by hand using quite expensive parts and in the end only a handful of them are actually made (which alone drives the manufacturing price incredibly high). Now on top of that you add the R&D and all the tests and prototypes that they go through until they have a final product and $16k starts to look kinda cheap even.

Planing to talk about the Slack Core 920r and the Dualtron X limited just getting more info. The portable rocket keyword portability
They don't automatically add the charger because you may not need it. That's why you can choose "none" in the drop down.
