- There is a lot of guides on Deadlock out right now but nobody is explaining the most important part of the game. Winning the early game has by far the most impact on the outcome of the game and a lot of people get it wrong. In this tutorial you will learn everything you need to win in Deadlock by winning your lane and winning the early game.

I knew kills weren't worth a whole ton in this game, but I had no clue it was that low. Kills only being worth a wave of creeps is wild. Definitely explains why it's so common to see someone be 22/0 and still have less souls than some random person who is like 3/3.
I found this out yesterday playing a solo game vs hard bots. I was at 28 kills constantly going for ganks around the map trying to learn my character and the bots were at 4-5 kills and constantly laning. they all had 5-10k more souls than me it blew my mind
It's about timing of the kill. If enemies die, you can push the lane for free and they will losing waves. You could also use that timer to farm jungle which will increase the gap of soul between you and enemies
Thats really standard in mobas, its the same way in league unless the enemy has a shutdown bounty on their head, too many people coming into this game with no moba background atm so they gotta learn all these basics lol
@@anthonyalvarez5737 it's similar but no where near to the same degree. the starter items in league and dota don't scale at all and don't typically have percentage based stats. also there's far less slots to carry items in those games so it's much less feasible to stack them
@@Dismal626 that’s my point, not thats its a 1 to 1, all I said is that the skeleton for this game is that of a moba, hence the league and dota reference I made, a player coming from league/dota vs a player with no moba experience/coming from a shooter will have a much easier/faster time picking up the basics.
he sounds so happy not playing ow ))
At least with Concord I was top 100. Deadlock, I am nothing
That’s like saying ‘at least I was worthless now I’m worthless’.
@@DStrong.Bruh, seems like you didnt get it
@@azertyqwert7276 then why not explain to me what I didn’t get. I’m sure you won’t. I’m sure you just reply shit you think is witty but aren’t able to back it up. Go to sleep. It’s past your bedtime.
@@DStrong. concord didnt even have 700 all time peak, so getting in the top 100 wouldnt be that hard since the game did not have a lot of players to begin with. Get it now?
@@azertyqwert7276 yeah you absolute brainlette. i got that from the beginning????? the only one here not getting something is you in regards to my comment. how clueless can you be?????????/ljkvnbfdkjsbedkfjsb i dont even believe youre a real; human at this point. just an antagonist bot. holy im in shock at how dumb and full of themselves people can be.
Cool to see you covering a different game, and that different game being Deadlock. I enjoy your OW content immensely, so looking forward to more of this. :)
When a Creep's health bar STARTS to glow brighter, a heavy melee is a guaranteed kill, when the health bar FULLY glows bright white, a light melee will kill it. There is a ~2 second window after a minion reaches zero health where you can still claim the last hit on it, either with melee or a single bullet, this is represented by the creeps health bar flashing red and their model disintegrating. If a Creep dies and no one gets last hit, no souls will drop. It's preferable to push your lane and let your Creeps to die to tower, than it is for them to die to your opponent because then you completely cut off their soul supply while maintaining your own.
Be conscious of Camps/Jungle spawns, which begin spawning at the 2 minute mark, as they grant easy souls throughout the game. You may have to wait until you're stronger to attack higher tier Spawns.
Crates can grant extra souls, and Golden Urns/Statues can grant PERMANENT Stat boosts, so they should always be broken when able. They start spawning at the 3 minute mark.
Learn simple movement techniques as well, especially for low stamina characters like Mcginnis, as it will help you when retreating or simply traversing the map efficiently.
Don't push past your friendly Creeps, and do your best to stay near the Creep with a flag on it's back, as it can heal you every five seconds, letting you survive pokes and accidental damage.
Don't hoard souls. Spend them as soon as you can purchase another item for your build, otherwise you may be giving your enemy an advantage, even if they have less total souls than you.
Don't rush past a recently destroyed objective to tackle the next one, you'll most likely die if the enemy team knows what they're doing. Instead, run back to your shop, buy anything you can, and clear some of your lanes' Camps/Jungle Spawns, Crates, and Urns for extra souls and stat boosts. Then just run back to your tower to push back any Creeps that may be about to attack it. Your enemy will be focused on pushing your tower, so they can't clear their own lanes' Camps/Jungle Spawns reliably.
Don't forget that Roof tops exist, and have their own Crates and Urns to destroy.
Be on the lookout for Soul Dispensers (Basically Fancy gumball machines that give souls), you can get a good amount of souls from each one, and they appear on your map as a square w/ circle icon.
In a solo lane getting a kill is really good because it buys you time to secure a full creep wave and get some tower damage. +tower will kill some of your creeps which is good.
"How To Win Your Lane Every Time" showcases a video where his tower gets destroyed first :D
I count 2 missed opportunities to land charged punch on sleeping enemy, while there wasn't second enemy around. That's your strongest move on Haze, when you landing sleeping dart, not shooting.
Take a shot every time he says the word "lane"
Gulp
Well, I guess I’m dead💀
What you should do if you lose your lane? Like money and space wise, when they pushed you to your walker
"When you're losing lane" would be a good video 😁
Also, priority for farming.. lane creeps > jungle> creeps > bridge buffs > pots/idols? IDK lol
Kills aren't worth as much in Deadlock is due to the zipline allowing heroes to reach back to their lane faster. In DotA, dying will forced you to either walk back slowly to lane or forced you to use a TP scroll which is a valuable resource (with 1 minute cd to boot) hence dying are punished much harder.
Thanks for all the souls number info. Just what I was looking for
Love to watch this as a 20 hour Haze main.
I completely ignored souls like the entire 10 hours I have played so far. This is a literal game changer.
10:25 All I can think about is "Dont care, dont care, still dont care"
my biggest inspiration when playing is mr krabs cause MONEY MONEY MONEY
RUclips tip - use word "Deadlock" in description.
Skip tesla bullets and just rush ricochet
I needed to see this video cos I'm really struggling with getting souls early, I always seem to be bottom of the pile, but I've been going in all wrong
12:32 lol That's why god gave us 2 kidneys.
This is so much like dota 2 other than not guns and this is guns
If both sides in the lane listen to this video who wins? WHO WINS?!?! IM GOING CRAZY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT!!
havent tried the game. but are there any characters that is good for early gank/rotation??
u down to run some games?
this is the content i needed for this game! nice one. also, fuck OW
what if 2 people use this guide on the same lane?
then you scream at each other and win together
hell yeah
21k vs 1.1k is insane :D
Furthest behind I've seen was 9k vs. 20k. Worst part was the winning team's grey talon could one-shot them with ult... and it's cooldown was shorter than their respawn time. Literally could not play the video game.

I was with you till you said seven + infernus is a hard lane for haze and paradox lmao
Haze is the weakest laner in the game, paradox is great but a good Infernus+Seven will win on average.
@@MetroOW how do you beat haze in lane as infernus?
@resiliencevideos Level up the 3rd ability first and make sure you keep the burn stacks going. It's very frustrating early game.
@@gnoomlord The only way Haze can win that lane is hitting a great sleep which you can avoid with cover play. Infernus wins in damage trading with the burn passive and if haze gets close u can use ur 1 to get them away. Haze has the lowest hp in the game aswell.
@@MetroOW infernus absolutely does not win poke trades idk what you're talking about

Bro is not high good at the game and stole half his vod from joe and deathy. Anyways you need to emphasize the importance of wave prio. you can have goated mechanics, but if you don't manage the wave you will loose lane. Your also playing against bots. But its solid info.
Why is he calling himself a Pro - "Pro Guide" ? Its an Alpha with no ranked feature included yet, or did I miss smt?
Not defending him but, there was a mmr tracker that only yesterday got stopped so there is actually clear leaderboard etc (Google deadlock tracker) not looked his account up tho so 😅
I really do not understand why it's better to push than play under the tower. This video gave no concrete reasons. Playing under the tower you have longer kill window, you are less receptive to ganks, you have immediate access to shop hence better power spikes, you have tower protection so you can't die, and it's imo easier to last hit (even though people seem to argue this). It's also much easier to setup for a kill if enemy is forced to play on your side of the bridge. I'm yet to lose a lane even once by keeping the creep equilibrium at the stairs. I'm not highest elo so there's probably a reason, but I don't get it and would like to know.
If you play under tower, a good player on the enemy team will sit right behind his creeps and get free damage on you but more importantly will be able to deny a lot of your last hits.
Again, shorter distance to creeps means shorter bullet travel time = higher chance for a deny. Unlike in league or dota, the tower will not aggro the enemy player first so as long as there is creeps pushing it he is free to shoot you, deny etc. without any risk. Also, if you do it too much your tower will go down, leaving u wide open for ganks.
You are correct that there is an inherent risk of getting ganked by pushing into the enemy but a good player will capitalize on the extra money they will receive and will make it worth it.
It's the stairs. Stand at the bottom of the stairs and you've broken LOS, can click on creep heads and still deny souls the moment they spawn. Meanwhile standing under tower you have no hard cover, will need to expose yourself to shoot creeps (which are currently on the stairs) and your head appears first.
And frankly, you will still get ganked under tower, they just tickle.
go back to overwatch, blood doper
This game looks like a snooze fest
