Excellent presentation; you've been in the mob, I can tell. I'm going to make some of these for my hootchie; it looks a lot cleaner and simpler than my existing in place ridgeline with prussic knot tensioners. I do like the bungees for speed but they are limited. I bought some new ones the other day, good quality and they weigh 500g for two; far too heavy to add to my kit. Subbed and liked.
Bungees shouldn't be stretched more than 60% otherwise they will fail plus, they have a nasty habit of taking your eye out or giving you or someone close by a Black Eye. Jungle Knots, Jungle String, John Cord (I made a comprehensive video on it a couple of years ago, now copied by Greencraft and Becks Bugout Survivor, such is RUclips,) is good kit, but it takes up more room in your Kit when Hanked than ordinary Paracord and using the Robert's Toggle No Knot Ridgeline then, you're up and running in minutes. I am only using Jungle Knots/Cord now to suspend my Hammock as it saves on straps, Karabiners and all sorts of unnecessary weight. Spacing for the overhand knots is usually 4 fingers. I never need to have mine taught to stop them falling out and you can always stick a temporary toggle in there if needed.
I use 3mm comms cord, it doesn’t stretch like 550 and isn’t as prone to tangling either. It has been more than strong enough as well. I pinched Greencraft’s idea of using a toggle on the end. He did admit that jungle knots wasn’t his idea, although he did say he adapted it to use with said toggles. I make up lengths of around 10 feet. I wrap the cord around the toggles, and dump them in a pouch along with my ridge line and extra 550 paracord.
@@Mat-kr1nf I don't know what 'Comms Cord' is? I mean I guess it is an abbreviation for Communications Cord, but I don't know what it is made from and 3mm - doesn't it cut into the tree bark? Jungle string has its uses, but I find it is bulky to hank and store if you're making long ridge lines plus it uses a lot of cordage to make up the lengths over using straight cordage. I designed my own Robert's Toggle system for ordinary Paracord or any cordage rapid ridgeline use, but I don't really see how or the need for Toggles with Jungle String and I am a great believer in using Toggles to spread the load through eyelets etc. I'll have to go back and look at what Neal did in his video as there was a spate of Jungle Cord/String videos came out weeks/months after mine. Bex Bugout Survivor did one too and a bloke in Finland was quoting John Cord in Finnish which I found amusing. Looking forward to finding out what 'Comms Cord' is. Cheers.
@@RobertsBulgaria Hi Robert first, apologies, it known as “comms”, not, “coms”🤓. Secondly, it’s 1.5mm, not 3mm. Anyway, you’re right, it’s communications cord (had very enlightening read on how it’s usemd and how to set up a temporary base, sentry placements and the like!). To be quite honest, I never considered about wether it would damage the bark, The trees where I camp tend to be either birch, hazel or willow, so not so much of an issue. I find the toggles handy for putting through the hanging strap things on my tarp, or for fastening two lengths together, plus just for wrapping the cord round for storage. @@Mat-kr1nf That makes perfect sense and I am of the opinion that there are no Tablets of Stone or Rule Book on which Knots one uses, which Tarp configuration one uses, it is up to the individual to find what works best for them albeit, RUclips in this genre has to be about sharing ideas and methods and not telling viewers that they must have must buy this that or the other. 👍

Evidently, he and his pals laugh at people using plastic Nalgene bottles!😩 Probably won’t have anything to do with anybody not wearing this season’s “must have on pain of death (or social exclusion) high end fleece made from the belly fluff of an albino, Siamese twin Angorra rabbit!😂. Nope, I’ll stick with RUclipsr’s who keep it real you. 🧐 P.S. I had a holiday in Bulgaria a few years ago, beautiful country, Wild flowers everywhere. We were on the coast near Varna, at Sozopol, happily, not too near Happy Beach. 😂. Would love to camp in the forests in the mountains,amazing!
