I had the privilege of singing under Dr. Leach's direction in festival choirs, and then as a Choral Methods professor. Thank you, Dr. Leach! (Claire Lute, PSU B.S. Music Ed, '08) Today, I'm using some of these techniques with a brand new choir in Fort Collins! You are forever a treasure.
I absolutely love videos like this! I can even play most of it for my students and they can simply follow along with another conductor besides me! I would LOVE to see more of these! He leads it so well, even without a choir in front of him!
Hi, Tony Leach, Your approach to warmups is brilliant and like many here below I'm so glad I've come across your Choral Warmups. I will be trying hard to reach your high standards for the people I support and will revisit you often! Thank you, Michael.
Thank you sir I graduated from The Cleveland School of the Arts as a member of the R. Nathaniel Dett Choir C/O 2014 and I haven't been doing any vocal warm ups really since then but your video here has helped me get back to it. I want to start my mornings off with this more as it helps me get my vocals back together I appreciate you sir! Peace and Blessings.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I was looking for a Vocal Warm-Up that was easy and fun and Thank Goodness I came across this lesson:) I immediately respected this Vocal Coach and I felt as if I was sitting (or standing) in his class as I followed his every word and directions. This will be my go-to Daily Vocal Warm-Up now and I cannot thank you enough for sharing this lesson with me and the rest of the world:)🎹🎼🎤🤝💕🌍🎶🎵😁
This has to be one of the best 16:21 that I have ever spent. I will be back many times. I only wish that you had a choir so we could hear how they responded to such wonderful instruction.
Love this. I'm a choral director turned assistant principal of instruction (API) and I'll be using some of these for openers for professional learning. Thanks for the reminder that warm-ups fit everywhere.
You can learn from this wonderfull lesson how to do cartoonish voices. But students should have a grasp on beginner singing techniques like for example head voice and chest voice
Thank you Dr. Leach for your participation in this offering by "Penn State"! Your presentation was so fluid and easy to follow. I do have one suggestion at 8:41 with the song preparation for "This is the Day" - could you add a metronome or a drum riff in the background to allow the responding singers to catch on to the syncopation/style that is in this phrase... I teach a multi-"cultural" combination of singers and some struggle with fitting in to certain levels of complicated syncopation.
Nice video you got here, it contains a lot. But I will want to have a class with you sir Because am kind of confuse on how to lead some persons on my music group
Professor Tony Leach this is good of you and the Penn State University for offering me such a wonderful opportunity to learning very key techniques in this industry. I would wish to contact and consult with you on some other more details on the same subject . Kindly allow me to have your email address.
This is great. Nr 7 Is the Tenors and Sopranos sininging up and Down only and the Bass and altos Down and up only? or do they sing the same melody when singing together?
This is the day that I discover you, I rejoice and am thankful to you, thank youuuuuuuuuu, thank youuuuuuuuuuu, thank you Tony!😀
Thank you Tony for this! You now lead warm ups for my students when I have to be absent from class. They love you.
