They were most likely friends before the actual show because they're big fans of eachothers music and have been wanting to collaborate. They for sure talked before the show to just hangout and probably before that to, to plan what song they would collaborate with and where meet up, etc. and became friends, but haha I see what you mean.
The Chainsmokers worked with BTS on Best of Me and I think they met in the US so they already knew each other before this concert. And yes the “DJ” is a member of the Chainsmokers they’re a duo
