  • John Christie brought death to everyone around him. He managed to pin his terrible crimes on another man who would be sentenced to death. He eluded capture for years.

    The dramatisation aspects of this programme are EXCELLENT! It would be interesting to see the whole programme with THESE actors...Is this available?

    I first read about Christie when I was a teenager in the 70'.
    His head always reminded me of a teapot ...... still does.

      No he was an idiot... should have gone straight to the police.
      Back then you couldn't admit to crimes and expect to walk away from it all...

    4:00 it’s mad that 60 yrs later minimum Notting Hill is regarded as the place to be and house prices there are ginormous 😮

      I see both sides of the argument, but what’s the point of letting someone rot in prison for possibly forty years or longer at taxpayer expense? Let’s take a poll of victims family members to see their feelings or the millions of Jews that died in concentration camps.

      @@jeremypearson6852 If you’re able to live with the established percentage of wrongful execution which has stood at 2% for many years, then that decides it for you. However, you must not be aware of the fact that in every US state with the death penalty in place, condemned inmates are “rotting” in prison right along with the lifers….due to the concern that methods of execution in this country constitute “cruel and unusual punishment,” executions have been permanently deferred, and death row inmates have been waiting 30-40 YEARS to be executed. Therefore, your concern is moot. I would also like to make you aware of the statistics in states where the death penalty is legal: in these states, the rates of serious violence, including murder, are *significantly higher* than in states without the death penalty. The research method is a simple comparison of numbers; therefore, I won’t provide links to this research, as it can easily be found online. Therefore, the point justifying the reason of death penalty-to deter people from killing other people-is completely unfounded.

      @Ciara1594 Год назад

      @@voraciousreader3341 Not true. According to the FBI's findings the States with the death penalty crimes are much lower than those without. And the length that a person is on death row is usually twenty years. Sometimes less. If I had my way, the murderers would be turned over to the victim(s)
      families. And since forensic science is much more advanced than thirty or more years ago, the person who gets convicted nowadays is more often than not, guilty. ⚖️

    Christie is one helluva psychopath. He manipulated the feeble minded Evans to turn the tables to him. Why did the barristers never saw it through in the first place? Evans is such a pity.
