One thing i find the rat very interesting is how significant he is in all the games and the lore even though vinny and shadow candy also mean something. The rat is a special golden freddy kind of character for me

Just how everything about the RAT in the first game gives us hints about his history. He's visibly more decayed and older, showing he's from an old restaurant, the atmosphere immidiately becomes ominous and grim the second he appears, showing that something is wrong with him, the tiny eyes we see during the jumpscare show that he's much more inteligent and aware, his violent and erratic behavior shows he's dangerous and ustable, Vinnie not appearing in the cutscene he shows up signifies how other animatronics are terrified of him. We learn all that in a span of a 2 minute cutscene and an 8 minute final level. Gotta commend Emil for effective storyteling, that's for sure
Also in Fnac 2, when the Rat and Cat show up the other Animatronics are gone
Even the only animatronics in Fnac 3 night 1-5 are Rat and Cat

In FNAF,the animatronics have "soul" in their jumpscares but in FNAC,in Rat's case,it has no soul in those eyes which scares me even more

Fnac 1: this rat character is a mysterious figure that only appears after night 5. He can use any of the characters abilities and is crazy fast
Fnac 2: now he is joined with the cat, another mysterious figure
Fnac 3: P U P P E T
He's basically Springtrap of FNaC universe-an old, decaying monster that serves as the main antagonist of the franchise. He's arguably even scarier than Springtrap, as with the ol' Spring we can at least pit the blame on the man possesing the character. The RAT though? No human, no ghost, no hacking. Just an evil, sadistic machine that kills for the hell of it, without even having a programming big or something loke that. Even with Bon frim WF, who's arguably even more psychotic and violent, we can say that he's just that-a robot, most likely following programming from Felix. The RAT clearly wasn't altered, he just gained consciousnes one day and decided to use that freedom to go on killing spree. People looking as if they were mauled by bears, animatronics ripped to shred, children shoved into endoskeletons, RAT did all this with no tempting from a human. Springtrap meanwhile, hasn't harmed a living thing since his first death in the springlocks
Iirc, RAT is possesed by a ghost of an actor who played him in the past and was accidentally killed by Vinnie puppeter

*I'm absolutely in love with THE RAT in FNAC1 and 2 ESPECIALLY, the scare and the noise is just artistic to me, I like the cat from 1 2 as well, the 3rd games scar4es fell off if you ask me but i like the way the rat dodges the light, it adds flavor. The way the rat and cats eyes dont light up makes it difficult as well, love the lesser spoken about characters like MANGLE and rat..:)
